IMO, the whole modular house system just doesn't work well, too buggy and hard to use for my liking. But then, that's just my opinion.
Sandrock version is confusing. "OK, I can make a factory because there is a new button. Ah, its like a room. There is a choice to make it a factory... (there is not enough items) What that means?" I had to check someone let's play video to have a clue of how it works.
This modular building system look interesting, but still there are some hiccups here an there.
Like, why some items are avaliable to be added through the construction menu? Some are inside chests, but others are not,
they seem to be inside this invisible container for this particular mode (already own).
That hammer button that appears when I select an object is labeled "retrieve". But where did it go? It's not in my inventory, it not the on the "Already Own" menu, seems that was just destroyed without givng some feedback, like money refunded.
The multi-select don't give me a clear feedback of what is selected. Items could be clearly highlighted. Also a better way to add/remove items from an assembled group.
If I move my house, the rooms reset the doorways, deleting my doors without giving me back the money, and whatever was set to middle of the walls, are send me back by mail. Making inconvenient to rearenge my home.
Can't rotate doors, to choose of which side I wish the hinges will be.
I wish I could mirror some objects, like the eagle statues.
Game is great! I'm enjoying it more than Portia. But there are some flaws that get in the way. =/
Having default houses you can build was nice too. I don't understand why you'd like to have furniture included, or why you need to have a bed and house up when you put down a new one. That's not even talking about stairs... Seriously if I want to build houses I'll go and play The Sims.
Portia factory should have stayed.
