Overlapping events
Can we set up exclusions for major events and story events? I now have 2 days of endgame council sessions that run 3 sessions in parallel WHILE having 2 days of sandrunning at the same time. What this means is that I HAVE to miss stuff and the NPCs teleport all over the place as they don't have a clue as to where they should be at any given time.

It creates stress, time pressure and leads to missed content. Just postpone story events past seasonal events.

I just had major story turn event Duvos Invasion and Day of the Bright Sun fired middle of it! Gifts for all the new arrivals yay! :scribe:

I had a major story event triggered, and the Showdown at High Noon was cancelled completely. I was hoping that it shifted a day or something, but no.

I had the same problem with events. There really needs to be a delay mechanism when the game is packed this full of events. Even slowing my progress doesn't help because events occur in big batches all at once the moment I cause story progression.

Same issue, I had the day of memories while everyone was locked up in jail.

I had Logan trial on the High Noon day. I won the championship while not getting the achievement. Credits rolled a moment ago and said I won it 0 times, which is bs.

Good point. Next time I'll play I'll keep a close eye on the calendar, if there will be a risck of overlaping, I'll stall the main story for a while.

Reviving this thread as this is still an issue. I'm playing through my first run of the game, so I have no idea when events are triggering so I can't easily plan around the main quest events. It can't be that difficult to have the game check for calendar holidays and just... schedule the main quest events for other days, right? (Or limit firesides to Sunday nights?) I don't recall Portia having this much trouble with it, but maybe that's just poor memory.

I'm really trying to love Sandrock and the effort put into it, but man is it a struggle.

Generally progressing main story quests is what triggers events, so if you have a golden quest (if I remember right) then just don't do it until your calendar is free. That should help you avoid vast majority of them

Not entirely accurate. Some main quests have a delay of several days before the next triggers, some are tied to the calendar (e.g. Elsie coming back from her trip). You can also have multiple main quests at the same time, so you'd be putting all your progression on hold and just guessing whether or not it will have an impact. It would be much better for them to control the timing than you guessing, especially if you didn't play the game before and don't know the story or how everything works.

Most of us ended up here because our game was ruined and then we found out. Your approach basically results in the same situation occuring for everyone else. There is no real benefit to finding out after the fact. It's better to prevent it.

As a challenge runner who shoots for fewest in-game days to roll credits, the timing of events can be a big spanner in the works (lost a day in one run where Musa should've arrived because it got pre-empted by the first rainy day, which ends up being a drop-everything event for the game, for example.)

The Duvos invasion has knocked out the winter solstice in a couple of my runs, but that's actually a good thing because it doesn't slow the main quest down.

FWIW, my best time has been rolling credits on Fall 2 of the second year (142 days.)

I get annoyed by the artificial Elsie gating till Spring of year 2. They put the story on hold and resume it at the worst time, because there is a super long story dungeon on the day you are supposed to register for the fighting tournament. I forget every single playthrough and then I need to redo the super long story instance after loading back. All because they stalled me in winter and made me wait to resume the story so close to an event overlap. The last playthrough I just gave up. Not doing this again.
