You can't give her heart knot, her romance is connected to main quest almost at the end of the game where she initiates relationship.
There should be at least some sort of warning or indicator that tells you progression for some characters is connected to quests.
Not really. Only 8.5% of the Steam owners have completed My Time at Portia. Half of the players quit the game very early, though this is not at all usual for a Steam game.
