How can I ensure that the best quality parts are used for the assembly station?

I want to build a refiner in rare quality. When assembling, however, green parts are used, not the purple ones.

Apparently the refiner is only available in green quality. With all other crafting stations you can't choose the quality of the parts when putting them together.

I tested this the other day. I made something with all rare items and it still came out Outstanding quality i.e. it's not worth it if that does make a difference.

Easiest way is to get the item and refine it. There's also perks that increase rarity of items off the assembly.

I have a perfect quality refiner, but it literally doesn't matter because the refiner doesn't have any like fuel or anything else that would benefit from... you know... refining.

Also, like 99.99999999999999% sure it's just a RNG thing what quality you get when making something. There are a couple knowledge skills that put a thumb on the scale a bit, but ultimately it's still a crapshoot.

Hi, it is possible. I have just made a rare one. All my parts were refined to rare. Then i had to make sure i had none of these parts in other quality in my chests. (put them in one chest, picked it up with the home renovation tool and retrieved them. let them stay in the mailbox while you add the parts and get them out after) Otherwise the assembly station will still pick the less quality parts.. I thought the quality of it didn't matter either and i can confirn it does not matter.. I just like to have everything the same :')
