Spouse Party Catering?

So most of their 'chores' or assignments, are pretty self explanatory. I married Owen and found he could "cater" and selected that assignment (as a test, I took him off of everything else and left him just to catering) and hosted a party later that week.

So when the party is in full swing, banquet table is set, invited guests arrive and start gobbling down the food... and nothing. He doesn't do anything. I had to make/serve more food to everyone and he just walked around saying/acting like any other guest.

So then, I have to ask, what's the point/purpose of "party catering" when said spouse does not do anything? Is there something I missed? Is this a bug?

Party catering is where they take already prepared food from the helper box and put it on the banquet table.

I've found it to be a little finicky myself. Sometimes it works and other times not. Once I had my husband run down from his former apartment refil all the food then run off again. XD It doesn't seem to work if your spouse is invited to the party.

Yeah, it's a tad buggy, particularly if your spouse is invited to the party (and it seems kinda mean to get them to cater a party they're invited to). They can only add food that's in the helper box, so make sure to stock that up. If they STILL don't do it, report the bug.

Same with Rosie. I gave her the assignment and put food in the helper box and nothing. So didn’t bother with that again.
