Scrapyard elevator - add railing
The only time I've ever died in this game is because the horse can't make a minor directional adjustment without walking forward. Repeatedly fell off the elevator and instadied throughout the playthrough while trying to push the button.

Making the elevator platform deeper or adding a railing so it can safely accommodate mounts would be nice.

If real life has taught me nothing else, its this: Never ride a horse on an elevator.

Why would you need horse on the elevator, it`s basically next to your house.

I allways tell to my horse "wait" at the entrance because he anoys me too much when I'm scavenging, so he doesn't even get close to the elevator. But I still think that should be some security measures, People at this age doesn't know that much about security it seems.

A 5 speed horse is really fast. I don't go down the elevator in the morning, I just get the scrap (dismount in front of the bus, mine everything, mount and go back to put stuff in recyclers). I come back there later (from further away) to use leftover energy, take the elevator down and enter the mine directly without having to go through a dismounting animation. The issue is the size of the platform and the behavior of the horse. The height kills you no matter your HP or defense rating, so would be good to have a measure against falling off so easily.

Honestly I agree that Rocky REALLY needs to install some safety rails. I know there's no OSHA regulations anymore, but come on... someone's going to get hurt or killed like that. Sure it's probably not super safe to ride a horse onto an elevator, but... I'll confess I've totally died that way too.

I died that way once, so I started getting off/on the horse at the top of the elevator instead. Did not have a repeat incident. Would recommend that.
Just dismount before getting on the elevator.

You should see my rides to get on a DUCK!

I dunno why I'm always full charge, try to hit E, and if miss... duh! I always promise I won't do it again but just wait. Another day, and another very large DUCK miss. Could slow down, but could and woulda and yadda yadda.

At this point I think it's a sport or a self-troll.

I couldn't believe I died mounting my horse on the elevator yet again restarting at release, just like I did a while back in EA. No need for railings though, ppl just shouldn't mount their horses on an elevator lol.

I died there too, but that's because I accidentally right clicked and rolled off the elevator. lol

You can dismount and tell your mount to stay at the top so it doesn't try to follow you. Other places too. Mine is always getting stuck behind the bench by Heidi's shop because I forget to do that.

Why do people want more realistic things like this, but not realistic characters?
Sorry had to throw it in there. I haven't been back to that area, since winter year 1, so adding things or changing things is bleh. Also I hope people learn their lessons and don't keep doing the same thing expecting different results. That's just madness.

+1

Not because of horse movement, but the only time I died was when I had my mouse focused on another window, and right clicked Sandrock to return focus and I dove right off the elevator.

Nobody said this is either/or. Or that they want more realistic characters. Or that they don't. It's not even mentioned in the thread. Completely made up comparison to win an imaginary argument.

Why do you care about changes to a place you don't use? It's not a dramatic change either, it's bare minimum functional patch so people stop dying as this is the only place people do die and it doesn't need to be.

Trying to quote Far Cry 3 (badly) doesn't add any weight to what you say. It's called convenience. A mount exists in the game to be faster. You can load different areas without dismounting so it saves you time on not having to go through the animations. Either way, multiple people here died even without the mount. It's just a badly designed elevator, which is small with no boundaries so people fall off of it accidentally.

Your post literally has no value.

The movie "True Lies" taught me differently (especially when the horse's tail slapped that lady in the face, lol).

Elevators are the most deadly boss monsters which exist (for insiders: Shattrath, Old Undercity ...) *chuckle

On the topic: Maybe a railing which vanishes when you reach the bottom could help or making the elevator platform larger

Personally, I would recomment to dismount when you reach the scrapyard
