Did I make a mistake? Console vs PC
So, I've been playing this game on the PS5. I have played over 320 hrs on the PC during early access, but haven't completed all quests. I wanted to play it from the beginning and enjoy it how it was meant to be enjoyed instead of chopped pieces in early access.

I have spent over 60 hrs now on the PS5. I did not know that the console "full release" was not the same as the PC "full release". I didn't know about the limitation bug, marriage quests, missing character creator, and everything else. I'm having a bit of buyers remorse. I wanted it on the PS5 because the controller is more comfortable for me than keyboard or the xbox controller. I also wanted it to run smoother than on my PC, which it does.

The initial drawback of the PS5 for me was not having mods. Now I know that the PC is patched quicker and has content first. I wasn't expecting that.

So here are my questions before I sink more time: Was the PS5 version a waste of time and money? Is anyone else who is experiencing this giving up on the console version? And lastly since I've never played a game on two different systems, how likely is it that a gaming company will give the same time and care to both PC and console?

I played My Time at Portia on the switch, so have no personal experience, but I have read complaints about console vs PC for that game.

Given the option between a PC option and a console: PC wins everytime. You can mod, you have control over graphical options, and generally, its a better experience. Got a problem? You can fix it yourself on PC.

With the steamdeck, portability isnt even an arguement anymore.

Also can I just point out that you can use a ps5 controller on pc if you prefer that controller so if one of your reasons was a controller issue I thought I would just let you know that

Actually, most PCS only accept MICROSOFT compatible controllers. PS5 controllers are NOT compatible

This is outright false. Most controllers can be used on PC as long as you have the right driver for them. The PS5 controlers can be used on PC. Sony has a webpage detailing how to use a PS controller on a PC. That said, whether it's supported by an individual game is different. Some functionalities of the controller may not translate or be supported by a PC game. The game is likely to not include the correct button graphics or configurations. Most games will use XBox or generic controller button in their configuration menus. Games from AAA developers or games that are ports from console are more likely to have PS controller support in their configuration. Particularly if coming from Japanese developers.

hi, fellow ancient person =)

this used to be the case, you aren't wrong about that part, but as the young folks have said, this is no longer true. Sony has done some Sony magic so that it's possible to set it up to work for the PC; the big problem comes in because not all games recognize it.

guys don't be mad, back in ye olden days it was a Thing anybody anywhere near a helpdesk had to deal with. poor guy/gal probably has trauma.
