With the steamdeck, portability isnt even an arguement anymore.
This is outright false. Most controllers can be used on PC as long as you have the right driver for them. The PS5 controlers can be used on PC. Sony has a webpage detailing how to use a PS controller on a PC. That said, whether it's supported by an individual game is different. Some functionalities of the controller may not translate or be supported by a PC game. The game is likely to not include the correct button graphics or configurations. Most games will use XBox or generic controller button in their configuration menus. Games from AAA developers or games that are ports from console are more likely to have PS controller support in their configuration. Particularly if coming from Japanese developers.
hi, fellow ancient person =)
this used to be the case, you aren't wrong about that part, but as the young folks have said, this is no longer true. Sony has done some Sony magic so that it's possible to set it up to work for the PC; the big problem comes in because not all games recognize it.
guys don't be mad, back in ye olden days it was a Thing anybody anywhere near a helpdesk had to deal with. poor guy/gal probably has trauma.
