Wiki IS updating

Summary: The Sandrock wiki is being updated, there's a lot of info to go in, it's very slow.

I've seen a number of people saying that the Sandrock wiki is dead, or abandoned. While it is true that the previous admin and editors ...stopped working on it... it is neither dead nor abandoned.

There are a few people who are working on getting the information from Act 3 and the other changes the devs made into place, It's a TON of info, and it's slow going, but it's going in. I believe all the main missions should now be in, with more of the side missions coming along.
Other things are being worked on, too, every day.

Yes, there are LUA errors. There is a different few people who are trying to clean up the code so that the errors stop, and so that the wiki is easier to maintain and update in the future.

Now, some things like gifting will be difficult to update, because the method that was used to get the information in the first place is no longer available. It'll get figured out, and - fortunately - most of the gifts should still be the same.

If you would like to help with the wiki, you're more than welcome to. There's a discord (https://discord.gg/fc36Ydjmcw) where the editors try to coordinate efforts. You can go edit the wiki directly, of course, but the editors are attempting to have everybody working together, instead of overwriting each other's edits.

So is the dataming info only crazy over or what? Because if it's not I'd rather just make a new wiki and it will be updated faster

The data mining was done with the Dev Console mod, and that mod not only no longer works, but it also won't ever work again (the hooks necessary for it were taken out of the game for appropriate reasons).

The folks working on the wiki do receive some help in getting data from the developers, but there's only so much that can be provided - the developers are busy working on the game.

Keep in mind that the wiki editors are all volunteers and have lives outside of the game and the wiki. Like I said above, it's a lot of info to put in, it's a lot of work, and it's going to be slow.

I also very much appreciate your work. The Wiki is my go-to for info (for any game I play, tbh), and I've found most of it is accurate.

I would like to help out, but not sure what I can do. I've never worked with Wikis before, and don't know what kind of knowledge (or commitment) is necessary.

Only the first part is what I asked about. I don't expect devs to provide info for the wiki, that's not their job and the wiki got deserted in the first place because of a stupid rule of only datamining info, because idk, people don't have eyes and can't just add what they see? So that is on the wiki staff. My question was specifically and only about if the data mining only rule got ditched. But i guess that's a yes since the mod no longer works.

So in light of this news, does this mean more people can help out with the wiki, as this no longer working mod is no longer required?
