No friendship with Fang, it seems

I got the quest "Taste of your own medicine" and have been going every single Wednesday and Friday for a whole season now. The quest is no more in my quest log, indicating it's finished (it's been like that for weeks in game), but I still cannot gain friendship points with him. Is it just bugged like crazy? (Also did the bird swing for X, if that matters).

I's so frustrating, so if I am just missing something, hearing any solutions would be very appreciated!

You have to taste his medicine for quite a while. At the start that is the only thing that will give you friendship points. I just finished my first winter, and had just got the ability to start giving him gifts before winter ended. It takes quite a while.

There are also a couple more quests involving him, and other people. One with Arvio and one asked for by Mort. Once I finished those it busted everything open. I don't know if those quests drop only during certain seasons, friendship with them, or are story based. So I can't positively state when it will happen, just that eventually it will.

Ah okay! I was just worried because I had been capped out at 1 heart for so so long, despite seemingly getting those +3 friendship when tasting his medicine (eg they were not registering/counting towards a second heart). Thank you for clearing everything up!

Yeah, it can be frustrating, but it's worth the effort. Fang has some of the best quests and character development. Things will start to happen once you have discovered ALL of his medicines that work, then his little booth won't let you taste them anymore. You'll start getting quests for Fang and his options will open up. Meanwhile befriend and gift X (I gave him lots of shiny rocks/stones), when you gain levels with him, you'll get points with Fang too.

sorry if i ask but i have a problem with one of fang quest too. it's about the remember the good time quest. i did the first part in the clinic but after i did the fall from grace quest. now it has been 3 weeks ingame and x didn't show up.
I'm really scared since i have 72 hours of game. Do you know how to fix this??

A tip for this: Save and reload before you try his medicine. If you do it this way making sure you only try the medicine that works it'll move things long a bit quicker, though it'll still take some time before you complete unlock all his medications and the ability to give him gifts.

There are many meds experiment, check wiki for exact order/list. Basically you need to do experiment up to 3 times for each potion, with 100% chance at 3rd time. And the save and reload tips work better at 2nd time since 1st time chance is very low.
