If you rely more on mining and using furnaces and processors and what-have-you, where the output doesn't generate dregs, you'll be relying much more on the power stones you find when in the mines.
It's a strategic decision, and I'm in your boat; often I end up grabbing a quick ~500 gols dumping a 999 stack of dregs with a vendor to free up an inventory slot. Power stones get sold at the water shop because it's one of the few items you can sell there and offsets the cost until my midgame collection of Super Dew Collectors makes me a net seller rather than a buyer of water.
