Can't buy a horse

It's mid winter of the first year in my game and the only thing offered to buy at the ranch is the same yakmels and the same camel. I want a horse but I've only seen one at the beginning of the game. Normally by thus time I have a horse.

Do you have a stable? To purchase an animal you need a stable to house them (same with the other animal homes)

Edit: Totally read it wrong. The only thing I know about the Horses/Camel/Yakmel is they change on Monday so its really luck of the draw

Yeah, much as I love the variety that was added to the game with the other animals, it makes it much harder to get any horse, let alone the one you want. They need to rotate the animals more.

Yeah I've been stuck with only camels & yak selection too on this post launch playthrough. I don't recall it being so hard to find a horse in EA.

It has been for a bit. I think the game should offer more horses in single player, as the other two are useless.

I know when I was early on two of my most recent saves when you first get a mount they were both horses. But I've been renting the same horse on my main save since then.

When you get the riding lesson from Elsie, you get a horse, and you keep it for a week , i would suggest returning it one day before its due to go back to cooper and re rent it again and keep doing that until you can buy it. Its what i did, its not the color i wanted but i'm keeping an eye on cooper's ranch and or i'll change the color of it later down the track.

Once I accidentally let the rent expire and the horse went back to Cooper, but in the same day it was still there so I could rent it again, didn't even loose loyalty. But it was EA, I don't recomend trying this now, better to follow your tip.

I can say this still happens. But only for a day. I've been letting it expire and re-renting my horse since full release

That's what I did too until I lost my 100% loyalty horse so I don't recommend relying on this trick.

Shop resets at every sunday. I'm looking for a rare horse since 3 ingame months. It really annoys me to no end that I saw that rare horse only once when I didnt have enough money for it.

I bought the rare camel instead. It's alright too.

Just need to wait and check the store. I was stuck with only yakmels and camels for two months too until I got my white horse.

On my first playthrough, I got lucky and there was a horse available when I was ready to buy one.

On my second playthrough, I didn't see a horse for weeks so I resorted to reloading my save file. I saved the game right before I went to sleep Saturday night, woke up Sunday morning, ran to Cooper's and didn't see horses so I simply reloaded my save, repeated until I saw a horse. If I remember right, it took four reloads.

On this (my third playthrough), I didn't bother getting a horse and simply waited until a party in a cave happens.

Isnt sunday morning reload the way? Cooper gets his mounts on Sundays, if there is not what you want . Load you Sunday morning again and take a look. Do that till he has what you want random is random

I am glad I read this post. I was almost thinking they took horses out. My first 'Year' ends in 3 days and I have yet to see a horse. Oh well.

I'm over the moon I got my Argo (Palomino), but I want a white one too. Why? Cause.

I actually wish we could have more just to have them. So many great designs on mounts, I just want them all.
