Best way to make money on the side ?

right now I only make money with my daily commissions but I kinda miss doing something on the side, in close to all other "cozy" games fishing is the way to go but it doesen't seem that good in Sandrock, atleast no at the start.
Whats another way to make money on the side ? Like I don't need a money glitch trick or something, just small things, like is making furniture and selling it a good way ? or what else could I do

Between the main story forcing itself on me and being bombarded with side-quests, I never found the need for side income early on. Later on you unlock desert farming and can start growing tea-coffee trees for great side income. Even better when you get a new Greenhouse, grow 24 trees there and put it to increased yield mode.

In the begining I sold many cooper bars and parts to Hugo, after the Lift Crane completed was bronze bars. After choosing one more commission per day on the skills, I never had necessity to do so again.

You can just build random things you have plans and materials for and sell them at various shops around town. But you really won't need to. I was literally broke, 0 money, and after like 2 commissions, I was already back up to around 3K. By late game you'll have so much money you don't know what to do with it except maybe build a McMansion.

I think the OP was asking for another way to make money. I think Harris had the right of it. Plants eventually but as everyone has noted, you can just make random items and sell. I quite dislike the planting system in the the game but you can make some good money on it.

Also, after a point not terribly far in, you can get commissions to do more mundane things like catching a certain number of fish, or growing a certain type and number of plants. This might give you something 'non-builder-y' (Oh the language butchering I am doing today) but still give you commission money, social points and a break from grinding out nails and hinges.

Along with the suggestions already stated, I sell off my excess resources, especially Sulfur and Dinas.
