Will discuss internally and see how we can optimize Factory/Greenhouse in the later updates.
Hope to see a change but till now I wasnt disappointed by the developers.
This? Isn't even worth the name Factory.
I also refuse to build a so-called Greenhouse that doesn't look like one.
Yeah, I’ve enjoyed this game since it first went into EA, but this is the only time that I’ve had a big complaint about a game mechanic.
I feel that, much like the multiplayer, it needs a ground up overhaul to fix.
Anyways, other than that I am enjoying the game still!
Great news! Hopefully you will consider the OP's timeout corner recommendation as well! :)
How about implementing the Factory from Portia?
1. Allow more than one console and room, all of which contribute to the factory tracking as a whole. The consoles are simply interfaces to the factory system - heck, you could even introduce a singular piece (like the watertank) that represents the heart of the factory itself, of which you can only have one. This would make the consoles more like consoles and not the entire factory system.
2. Allow queues to be "per tool type", since relying on one tool type should not preclude the use of other tool types.
3. Like Portia, implement an upgrade system that allows for expanding queues, increasing production speed, improving production quality, etc. Upgrades can be done at any console and apply to the factory as a whole.
4. Add its own storage system. Introduce another storage box that only works with the factory - but can be upgraded so each box only uses 1 square but upgraded boxes are taller (avoiding the need to introduce stacking) to represent the greater capacity. This way, the size of the factory's collective storage is variable (like backpack inventory space) based on the number and quality of storage systems added to factory rooms (and only factory rooms).
In general, look at each aspect of the Portia factory and say "can the Sandrock implementation do that or exceed it?" This will help you determine when this feature is done properly.
