Ghost Hunt?

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but I registered for the ghost hunt, and it announced that the ghost hunt had started, and I can see the ghost badges, but I can't pick them up. They completely ignore me.

I was so confused I even tried googling it to see if I was doing something wrong, but I am just not picking them up. Bugged?

I'm having the same problem. Everybody tells you to collect the badges but not how to do it. It's so frustrating! I've tried clicking E, clicking my mouse and just running through them. Nothing works. The tutorial doesn't tell you, and the videos don't either. We can't tell what you're doing if you don't tell us. It looks like you're just running through them. Don't just tell us to collect the badges; tell us how to collect them!

I have the same problem, the event doesn't start properly. Normally you are told whether you are a hunter or a ghost.For example, if you start as a hunter you will be put in a tent where you can do a mini game to win the ghost detector that you need to unmask the ghosts. When you start as a ghost you have a small quick selection of costumes that you can use to hide yourself. The game basically ignores your registration.

Yeah, seems like something got borked in the shift to the full version. Can confirm it was as Rikku_Tribal said in early access, but there is another thread on the board about the Chase of Memories getting messed up as well.

From a developer response, for the first year you're supposed to be in a Fireside prior to the event that registers you or not based on your response, and you don't actually register normally. people are having issues with it though, and I expect to as well since I saved last night just before the Day of Memories, and the only Fireside I had was for a main story mission that triggered a Fireside.

I guess I'm hoping they'll put out a fix somehow before I play again probably tonight, but I'm not exactly holding my breath on that. -_- Annoying though to either wait and not play, or miss the event entirely for the first year.

Edit: And I forgot one of the reasons I was adding onto the previous post in the first place - when it is working as intended, you do in fact just run through the badges to pick them up. So it's not a matter of lack of tutorial really in this case, it's just that it's not working right.

I'm now in my 5th year (story completed) and I couldn't participate.I skipped it a few times because of the error and now I tried again and it didn't work. I'm pretty sure I've registered at least twice. To me it looks like the whole event is bugged, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. ^^" I don't want to make any false assumptions, but I am of the opinion that Day of Remembrance was (unfortunately) bugged before the release, that's why I tried again?

I looked at a few youtube videos to see if I was doing it correctly and it LOOKED like they were just running through them, so that was definitely confusing to me.

Glad to hear it's not just me, but it's also unfortunate that it's a bug.

I don't mind waiting that much, but I do hope they can sort it out.

It bugged out for me -- I couldn't pick up the tokens, and I wasn't placed as a ghost or ghost hunter. But then I loaded from the autosave it had made just before the event, and it started properly.

I had this and then loaded the game to see what I did wrong. You have to be at the center of town (The area outside the city hall) BEFORE the event starts. When I did that, I then had no issue.

I just finished and never had an issue with this; it was my favourite festival and I did it each year <3

You have to sign up earlier in the day at the booth, and then you come back right before it starts and it should auto-start, and if it's the first time there will also be a pop-up of how to play (though they don't mention that you don't need to hide till the end of the first long countdown)
