Split Screen Local Co-Op
I think a lot of these devs are missing how important this option can be to people. I would LOVE to play this with my fiancee but now we cant.

Please add local co-op.

Just no. My Time at Portia didn't have local co-op either. It's a single player game, there would need to a major rework of the game code to make local co-op work.

It's has online co-op... how is it a single player game?!

The main story is a single-player game. The multiplayer is a separate gamemode.
The main story would probably have to be completely reworked to make local co-op work.

I agree with the OP, these kind of cozy couch games are best played with significant others or friends. Nothing wrong playing it by yourself but there are more people that are couples looking for good cozy couch coop games than there are single andys.

Point in case, stardew valley was single player for awhile and saw good sales, then when they added multiplayer /split screen the game exploded in sales.

Same goes for Valheim, was single player at first and then exploded with sales after multiplayer.

Same with minecraft (yes im that old to remember the starting minecraft where it was a couple years before multiplayer was added)

I could list more but i’m sure you get the point. Games now a days for younger generations and the millennials getting older tend to gravitate towards team/group/multiplayer type environments as the sense of work/life balance puts more emphasis on finding ways to do things and play games with family members and friends instead of lonely solo play in a dark basement with cheetos and energy drinks.

I agree! This game needs split screen! There is not many games that people can play with their girlfriend/boyfriend sitting in a couch. Most couples don’t have 2 gamer PCs or 2 consoles, etc.

Necroing this but: Even remote play together would be an improvement on this. I just can't justify buying 2 copies of a game to play with my wife, who would be sitting next to me on a separate machine, when there are other similar titles (Stardew has been mentioned) that do remote play or split screen just as well.
funnily enough though the tags for the launch of the early access and for the "coming soon" when they added it were Singleplayer, online co-op and local co-op", then people found out after buying it that there wasn't any multiplayer in yet and that when it was going to be in it was going to be completely different to the main bit (months away too)... was the main reason for me wishlisting the game originally was the local co-op hype.... so maybe in the future as it would be good but seems like from the response it's not on the radar.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
