English and more help explaining what is happening! Do I make my sets on the table? In my hand? In a row on the table? WTF?
Also, yeah, would be nice to know what tile type I am selecting, but it's only in Chinese.
[Edited because I got to this part of the game]
I thought they'd change the tiles to have pictures instead of actual mahjong tiles but yeah it's going to be hard to explain how to win if you can't read Chinese numbers, but here's some simple info for now:
1) At the start they will ask you to discard a suit. You will have to discard every tile you draw of that suit for the entire game. That's like the one suit you can't play. The game grays it out for you if you draw that suit anyway and you *have* to discard it. So choose wisely based on your starter pile.
2) When you make 3 same tiles, that's a Pong. The game will ask if you want to Pong, or pass (hold onto your tiles). Pong is like showing your hand(?). It sets aside the match3 tiles and the opponents will know what suit you are going for endgame.
3) The strat is to discard tiles that you see the NPCs have already discarded, cos you know you're not gonna draw those anymore and it'll be hard to match-3. There's some deeper strats about holding onto certain tiles because the NPCs are clearly going for Pongs for those tiles (if you study what they discard) but that's very complicated to explain LOL
TLDR: Try to get as many match-3 sets and Pong... ^^;
The guide doesn't help. Hold our hand through a match, please. I think most in North America are only going to know the game where you match tiles to clear them, not playing against other people.
I'm sure once it's clear, it will make sense, but right now it's impossible to figure out.

No.. That's not a proper response. The guide and anything that is crucial to understanding the game should be in the language of the person playing it. The only thing that should be in Chinese is the tiles since it's a graphic and that's the type of game being played. UI are normally interface to the game and should be made so that the can understand and interact with the game properly.
Ok so, how does the game ask if you want to pong? or pass? Because I didn't see anything that looked like that, unless that was the red and blue things and which is which then? And what is the bird tile? And what do NSEW have to do with the game. I assume it matters since it's there. I still have 1000 questions. lol
(P.S Don't play with the older people, they are stronger. I tried a few games.)
Anyway, you match on your hand/deck. They already made it automatic. When you have 2 same tiles on your hand, and you draw a 3rd tile that's matching, the game will have a small prompt on the right which will be in ENGLISH asking if you want to pong or pass. The chinese characters ones are numbers, but you don't even have to make a numbered set. You can just look at the graphics and match 3.
^ You probably haven't drawn any of these yet. It doesn't matter, the game can be boiled down to making same-tile sets. You get more points if say you have 3 sets (of 3) of the same suit. So I have | | |, then a || || ||, and a A A A, the lines sets will give you more points as they are the same suit and you have 2 sets. It's a point system.

Btw it's real (but slightly watered down) mahjong so you guys can literally go on youtube and type in mahjong basics if you're THAT hardcore about it..........lol.
