mythril and orichalcum weapons (pickhammer and axe also)
Clearly this game is inspired by Harvest Moon or Story of Season as they're called nowadays.
I'm hoping we see some fictional materials. Mythril and orichalcum are two of the most well known fictional legendary material which use to craft end-game stuff in video games

Terraria has them too.
It seem these metals might be taken from the J. R. R. Tolkien's books of The Lord of the Rings.

But why?
Just for the sake of having them is not really a good argument.
Do we need unobtanium as well?
My time is a post-apocalyptic setting of the "real" world.
Those materials don't really make any sense...

I thought it was a made up word but Orichalcium goes much farther back than JRR. Tolkien.

There had been whispers about it from the time of the Romans in ancient texts, but no archaeologist had found any evidence until a few years ago when a 2000+ year old ship was found and had these unusual alloy ingots that seemed to fit the description from ancient texts.

Technically, or metallurgically it's basically Brass. Copper and zinc, but the name is derived from copper or bronze. Was used for coinage by the greek's?

Did you even read my post and actually comprehend why i suggested these two materials? Did i mention that I brought up the fact that this game is inspired by Harvest Moon? Harvest Moon also uses these two fictional materials.

This isn't just random materials that i suddenly made up. It's been in different games. For example, the Star Ocean series also has these two legendary materials. There are a bunch of other games that use these materials. You're asking why? Because it's cool.
It's bad-ass to have legendary weapons. You're asking why is like asking why are you playing video games? With your way of thinking, why did the developers even bother to include a bunch of other materials? Why not stop at bronze or steel?

By the way, don't give me that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the "real" world setting. Look at the goofy-ass monsters and the weird crops that can either give you one crop or the other. Does real world logic apply to this as well? Does the real world logic apply when your character seemingly stuffed a gigantic water tower in his inventory?

Just because those names for materials have been used in other games does not mean they need to be used in this or other games. Many of the existing players feel they don't fit into the setting of this game.

Ok, now I see, you're just a troll.

How is this trolling? He wanted to use "real world" setting and logic. I pointed out the flaw in his reasoning. Tell me again, how is this trolling?

This game has already been using all the materials and craft things that are very similar to Harvest Moon.

They might as well go all the way. When you say many players, I see you and one other player. This isn't "many." Just because you don't like it doesn't mean there aren't other people who appreciate having some more fictional elements being added to the game.

By the way, how is adding fictional metals not fit into the narrative of a game. You're already ok with a monster like the penguin with the wolf head and a boxing Kangaroo. You act like this game is following 100% of the "real" world., when in fact there are so many things that don't fit into your so called "real world setting."

The materials I mentioned have long been established in video games and other media. It's been around for decades. This isn't anything new. The way I see is that leaving things at Titanium is just feel incomplete, especially since they already borrowed so many elements from games like Harvest Moon.

My Time at Sandrock is in the final stages of development. Taking the time to add new materials seems unnecessary. I'd rather have the full release without any further delays.

Whats with the hostility?
Just because I disagreed with your, lets face it, poorly argumented original post?
When game A does a thing, that doesn't mean every other game in the same genre has to do that thing too.

The devs obviously chose a more realistic approach to materials used.
All the materials in the game actually exist.

The goofy-ass monsters are a product of questionable experiments from before the apocalypse or a result of it, you know, mutations from the radioctive fallout.

If anything, unobtainum, a whidely established sci-fi metal would make more sence in the setting, than orichalcum (another copper alloy) or mythil (sword and sorcery fantasy).
Even adamantium would fit the setting better.

Then I would respectfully suggest you play Harvest Moon rather than loudly continue to insist that My Time at Sandrock be an exact copy of Harvest Moon.

The story mode's unlock of new items must have been planned for a very long time. When the game got the first level of the crafting machines, the game's text file already mentioned up to four levels of some of these machines. Same with some crafting materials that only recently made an appearences in the game. they were mentioned in the text file since like forever,

I don't see Tolkien-esque materials make an appearence. We already have multiple uncommon alloys in the game including when making alloy based weapons, e.g. chromium alloys, aluminum alloys, "white copper" [cupro nickel] etc.

You do realize it is you who came in with an asinine comment and completely dismissed what I said, right?

You said it doesn't fit in with the so called "real" world setting. I pointed out that this is not the case. You're ok with them having fighting kangaroo that came equipped with boxing gloves and penguin with the head of a wolf.

Things that shouldn't exist in the so called real world setting according to you but "oh no! having fictional metal in this game" suddenly doesn't fit in with the real world setting. You do understand what you said don't make make sense right?
