Hey! The fennec fox is exclusive for our kickstarter backers and there's no way right now to purchase it. You might wanna stay tuned for our future pet DLCs and see what it has to offer then!

I would expect you not to put this particular pet in any future DLC. You could of course make a different one (same species, different breed) so as not to rile up all your kick-starter supporters.

no let us have a chance to buy a fennec fox too please <3 more sales and everyone is happy win-win. Will totally drop $$$. You guys could just make a different color version from the kick starter and i will be happy enough :)

I would be happy to have it but it is exclusive to the people who purchased it early. Just because you failed to do that does not mean something that is exclusive should be given out. Just move on and wait to see what comes in the future stop dwelling on things that are exclusive for a reason.

It seems to me that the people being greedy are the ones demanding an exclusive item they didn't qualify for. We already have 5 pets that are available for everyone. We aren't being deprived just because other people get something special.

The greedy people are the ones demanding the Fennec Fox. It is common for kickstarters to offer a bonus item that is only available to those who donate during the kickstarter period. You missed out. Boohoo. I missed out too because I wasn't paying attention, but I'm not whining and demanding a free item that was literally a bonus for early supporters of the game.

It's like a giveaway where the first 50 people get a free item, but person 51 in line is butthurt because they didn't get up early enough to get in line and is demanding they get the item too. The sheer entitlement is astounding in the most negative sense imaginable.

It was sold to some of us kickstarters for a premium and we were promised it was exclusive. So some of us paid 80 dollars for the game because of the promised rewards. Other rewards were priced even higher.

Making it publicly available would be a smack in the face for those customers and it'd mean the kickstarter campaign had been the seller lying to his customers. No, it's not going to happen because that'd be a breach of contract.

To be fair, a lot of kickstarters and a lot of AAA games open exclusives after a time because not everyone can dish out 80 bucks or even know about the thing. You are paying "\to further grow the game you believe in". No game would sell one exclusive in game thing for 80$ after the games release, that's stupid. It was, first and foremost, to back a game you believe in, you just get a thing for helping with the game. If you did it only for a pet, your priorities are skewed and that's why you'd be mad if others finally got the chance (after waiting possibly years) to obtain the same thing. It's also, first and foremost, a single player game. So what detrament other than "I paid more for it" is there to you, someone who should have given the money to a game you love and then been pleased with the exclusive that you enjoy far before anyone else (If that is indeed the case. It's not in some games)? Just some perspective.
Of course i am never for devs saying one thing and doing another. If they promised for a life time sole exclusive with no doors for future release to the public, then they shouldn't. I do feel that's a good way to alienate player base but I'd rather devs stick to their word, but if they didn't say that, or left room for allowance, than any money you feel gypped out of is on you.

To any DEV who might see this, be careful what you promise and how you promise it, and take that into consideration when deciding what you should release. ANYTHING more is up to the backer who either didn't read or didn't understand what they were signing up for.

people who missed the kickstarter get a fox and the kickstater people still get to feel important because they have the "special" colored one.

Whats with all the whining i hear it on the steam? Exclusive or not its just a digital item and also still why does this even a exclusive system exists anyways on every Marketing place in the world? its just an ego system build, my baby has the sprinkle candy while yours has not because MINE is EXCLUSIVE, anyways still back to the point, its just a digital item this time.

If it's a digital item that some people paid extra for as a sort of badge of honor and thing they wanted, then yeah, it needs to stay exclusive or else people will be ripped off. Even if you think it's stupid, they paid for it under those terms.

Games get backed so that they can be developed and then sold to everyone. They need perks to get people to pledge their money ahead of time rather than waiting for retail, so exclusives are one of those perks. Otherwise if you're not getting anything special for putting up your money years before you get the actual product, only a small handful of people for any given game/product are probably going to pay probably more money than the game will even cost up front just out of the goodness of their hearts to support it, if any do at all.
