Below is ALL spoilers:
I think this is a cool idea, the secret admirer thing is really nice, and cute, and interesting. Very different then in most farm life sims where, the player is the one who has to be down-bad, basically gift-spamming people like a playboy in order to have romance. So its...kinda nice Unsuur is basically a freebie boyfriend by default now. Which is ...I don't know, its just...funny and refreshing. Its reminds me of HM:AWL where you basically marry at the end of the first year LIKE IT OR NOT, but of course, here you can turn him down, by basically just not picking up on the romantic ques he drops and instead, just saying "YEAH BESTY LET'S BE PALS!" Its sweet, cause, immeditately after this you see just how lonely of a guy he is, and badly he NEEDs a friend, (like Justice WHY Justice...can't you see this man repects you? Kinda hurt when Justice was like - "This guy makes me feel awkard" while Unsuur is all like "Just is my best friend, and now, you are my best friend" (And you've spoken to him all of once. Poor man loves a rock for Heaven's sake. I'm in tears. lol)
Regardless, its nice you can just befriend him right there.
Friend zoning the heck out dis boy felt WAY easier to do then when Arvio pulls that dang masquerade thing- (but I mean, befriending Arivo...you was asking for it. Lol. That cutey snake charmer is poison!. lel. I like him though, lol. The little creep. lol. )
Anyway, I've always liked the idea of a game like this where characters and players have DIFFERENT heart levels. Like the player can feel a kinda way , but the NPC can feel differently. So, NPCs could have hidden crushes for players, that the players weren't in on- (preferably something that's randomly or dynamically triggered, not scripted so it happens every time) ---basically so players could personally add to the game how they feel about an NPC, based on some set of unlockable options, so (so they don't just put love at first sight or something-- like after some many quests or events together the player could say they like an NPC or hate them, and then the next few quests will be altered based on that personal assessment....and the same would be the case on how NPCs perceived players, which could be impacted by factors like what dialog the players picked or even things like what the player wears, or does most of the time, or what skills they have levels, ect. ), so the players character will maybe act or behave or be "perceived" differently, doing different things in cute scenes, and NPCs will also act or behave differently if the like or dislike the player for something more dynamic then just "heart level threshold activated!" I think that would be a clever game design thing. But nobody has done that yet, affection is almost always mutual, unless is scripted like with Dr. Xu in Portia and now...Unsuur here.
Ah well, somebody will MAYBE make a game like that...ONE DAY!
For now, this scripted crush, well... I like the change up!
The letters are a great touch. Started a run to see when they actually start to show in the game. With where my runs are now, it's an easy guess. But hopefully, it's a little more of a guess on a fresh run.
But well, trying to look from a non-biased perspective... Doing my best... I kinda like doing the 'long courting' route and with how easy it is to level up Corps' friendship and how tempting it is to have your significant other confess to you... Yeah, I definitely see your point.
I love his approach. It was cute and felt like it was a fresh and funny idea. It just felt strange that 2 weeks into the game and talking to him maybe twice led to a relationship.
Arvio huh? He's the only guy I haven't been able to find the desire to try. I even suffered through Pen. lol
I agree with different heart levels for different characters. But he was at 0 hearts. I had talked to him maybe twice. It just seemed a bit...off.
So imagine my surprise when he's the one that is your secret admirer. I was so happy and instantly started to date him.
But this became a problem in other playthroughs because it became so hard to turn him down even if it wasn't in a bad way. This man has unspoken rizz I say.
