Cistanche

I know it's a rare plant only growing in Spring and Autumn, it grows twice then doesn't spawn again. It's supposed to be NW of the Gecko ruins. It's Autumn in my game and I've hunted every in the desert and cannot find any of those plants. Can anyone give me an idea of a smaller area where you've found yours? Thanks
