I tried the answer someone posted about my not being able to plant. Well I put only the basic planting kit with the seeds I wanted to plant{mountain rose seeds and rhino seeds], When I dig the ground with the straw , the pack of seeds disappear. The only pack is a sandrice pack and I don't have that in my inventory. I have not been able to plant anything because it continues to want me to plant sunrice seeds. Very depressing. can't take any quest because I haven't gotten the hang of this planting business. When I press e button, nothing shows up but the straw, which is zero and the biocrust image which is also zero.

Sounds like you were hitting E while you still had the straw button selected.

Scroll over to the seed button or press 2 to select the seed menu, THEN press E, and a submenu showing all the seeds will appear above the seeds.

Use mousewheel to scroll through the seeds until you get to the seed you want to plant. (Or press the number key of the seed you want to select it.)

Then press left mouse button to select the seed you want to plant.

Press left mouse button again to actually plant.

(I'm assuming you are playing on a computer.)

I have yet utilize on my game pad how much harder it is plant stuff but I will try it and see. But planting for me is like memory game itself. People might think it not but Planting box upgrades to intermediate and it like huge step from one plot system. I can guarantee people grind at first but when get planting box mid level they excited to plant. I just disappointed there no actual green house no, other seeds to grow which would made it cool.

I recommend to other people get dew machines and harvest lot dew and sell back to town when crisis occurs.

Bio-crust -> means you don't have to use straw for long time and it re-usable.
It reminds me of container gardens in Portia but if Sandrock were sell Bio-crust to places where they lack trees and crops it would create peace.

Bio-crust is lvl 4 soil last time I checked only problem I have with even with water and fertilizers we use it never gets outstanding crops or perfect crops there must be another mission upgrades fertilizer somewhere? Maybe there even another water upgrade we don't know about?

I have yet find if we upgrade bio-crust further(like enriched it?)
