2. Qi because he is useful for things but I also think he is a bit rude sometimes.
3. I can't stand Pen, at first I thought I was going to like the big guy, but he's all about his love for himself, not even in a charming sort of way. He seems full of himself and I don't like his attitude
I think Logan is going to be a real interesting character, and Fang too with more content.
My middle choice... Not really sure, maybe Catori. I don't hate her character, she just kind of seems like she's always trying too hard with a bunch of get rich quick schemes and then learning she has a daughter living with a relative while she's constantly pissing her money away in Sandrock... but her heart is in the right place. Still, most of the time, she's just sort of... there. She's like the characters that aren't even full-fledged NPCs with stories.
My most hated character is an easy one: Arvio. There's basically nothing at all I like about that character. The voice with the fake accent, his narcissistic advertising ideas, the way he's always trying to get other people to do his job for him, how you lose relationship points with him if you point out how bad his pitch to Musa was, the creepy way he confesses to you, and the way he throws tantrums and makes his sister pick up his slack just all add up to making him easily my least liked character. I sometimes wonder if it's worth the 20% discount to have to put up with talking to him so much. Maybe the writers have a redemption story for him in store, but I'm just forever wishing I could reach into the screen and strangle him. If there were ever a VR version of the game, some modder needs to make it so you can do a good old fashioned Simpsons style strangling. Any time you get tired of hearing one of his long, whiny, self-indulgent, monologues, you could just press a button and, "Why you little...!"
2: Owen - He's one of the few welcoming aspects of the Sandrock community. Similar to Logan, he has a strong tie to the community in Sandrock and a drive to help others. I'm also a sucker for a man that can cook ( it's a trait that endears me to anyone really ).
3: Arvio - I can't. I just can't.
2. Not really sure who to put here, maybe Arvio. I find him very annoying sometimes, but other times I feel really bad for him. It's kind of a love/hate relationship with him.
3. Pen and Yan. I can't wait to kick them both in the rears with a steel toed spiked ice climbing boot into a canyon filled with plierimps and who knows what other kind of monsters/mutants/ai's. Is that too much? No? Anyone want to join me then? I'll bring popcorn.
Plus she looks like a young Halle Berry could play her in a live-action My Time movie. Bonus points.
2. Qi. I think he'd have some kind of appreciation for the idea of the "median Sandrock resident", like he wouldn't get that he's being made fun of. So Median Sandrock Resident it is, sir.
3. Arvio. That "masquerade ball" stunt? Dude, NOT COOL. Plus, as a guy who holds a degree in business IRL (BS Accounting, University of Nevada—go Wolf Pack!), it was fun watching Musa put Arvio in his place as a gadfly who wouldn't last five minutes in an actual competitive market like Atara or Highwind. Maybe Portia, since that city-state's economy is overloaded with goods from its Builder...
2. Qi. There are times he makes me face-plant ( serious scientist obsessed with some old cartoon about robots) but he is not a bad guy. Does a lot of work for me, and the town.
3. Arvio. I just can't stand him at all. Completely obsessed with himself, keeps coming up with these dumb plans. He comes across as completely lazy, and has zero business sense what-so-ever. His voice drives me to tears, it is like nails on a chalkboard. Honorable mention for Elsie. She is right behind Arvio. She acts like she is 5, and her voice sends me over the edge too. The fact these 2 have so many side quests at the start, made me want to throw my speakers out the window. I skip ALL their dialog, unless it is a quest I need to know. Then I mute and just read it for myself.
Since you asked!
I actually put my favs in classes.
I'll go in reverse order for, dramatic effect.
---------------------Nuu-uuh Tier ------ Not a chance
These are the people,...I don't want to talk to, pretty much at all. But I'll suffer them.
------
Qi --- No bro, it'a not okay to talk to me like that. If you are so smart, you've had to have learned proper social etiquette along side all that quantum physics. Try to put that sentence together again, and this time, with tact.
Burgess --- Where did this man's backbone run off to, and is there a way for us to get him a new one? I'ma cut a cactus just for you, hun.
Mi-an --- Can we have Higgans back? Please? He was a rival with spit. This girl is so goody too-shoes, I might die of diabetes.
Cooper --- Dis old man really coming at me every chance he gets? One of these days its about to go down!
Mort ---- Just a little less pessimism please? I'm in an escapist fantasy, I don't need you dragging me down right now.
Elsie --- Nothing personal, she just irks me. Not even sure why, maybe...maybe...Nah, I can't even place it. Its just one of those, "Oh no, its her, let's try and avoid eye contact so she doesn't notic---OH hi Elsie..how are you! I didn't see you there..hehe." kind of things.
Amirah --- Truly the desert rose. Beautiful, and...so so so so so full of herself. Makes my eye twitch how every nice gesture turns into me being the bad guy with this girl. I, can't. You ain't all that, jeeez.
Ernest --- So this one was in a higher tier based on how he looked. And then he opened his mouth. OH MY GOD! He disrespecting the writing profession with his little rich boy delusion. I can't. Its like listening to someone for a long time, nodding your head, and then realizing exactly what they said right at the end, and how much you completely disagree with it. That's this man's whole existence.
--------------------------------------------------------
-----------------No real opinion Tier------ Take them or leave them.------
Zeke, Vivi, Rian, Mason, Mabel, Krystal, Jasmine, Hugo, Dan-bi, Jensen, Matilda (my girl can walk doh, dang, she got a switch.) Venti, Nia. Grace.
---------------------------------------------------------
---------------Likable Tier ------------- I Like them------------
Heidi -- She's chill and works hard. What's not to like.
Pablo --- He's a sassy hair dresser. I'm sorry, but, how could I dislike such a dollop of fabulous?
Unsuur --- I'm Unsure how to pronounce Unsuurs name, but I'm pretty sure its "unsure". Regardless, I'm not sure about Unsure, but I'm sure, he's a decent guy. Honestly, its his name and general lack of interest in anything at all that makes me like him. He's like the perfect vanilla ice cream, minus the vanilla flavoring.
------------------------------------------------
-----------Love Them Tier ------------ Just a bit!----
Pebbles --- HE'S SO CUTE I'M GONNA DIE! WHY IS HE SO CUTE? WILL MY KID LOOK THIS CUTE! OH MY GOD!
Rocky --- I respect this man. He's a chill person, and I can't get enough to him. I'd work for him if I could, instead of Yan.
Yan --- Ok, so he's scum. But, he's got a charm to him. Like... a really appealing scum.
Miguel --- DO NOT JUDGE ME. He gives me some weird, villainous, abusive of authority vibes, and...I dig it. I DIG IT! What can I say. I'm vile.
Catori --- If I was into women, she'd be my woman. Its...not even a competition.
Arvio --- OK...SO. He looks like Aladdin. Aladdin was my awakening as kid. I ...freaking LOVE me some Aladdin. He...he's my best substitute, doesn't even matter if he's a fake charmer, and only interested in my money. He looks like ALADDIN DANG IT!
Justice --- So, he's so cool. He's go the best vibes. I want to be friend with him. I would join the Corps just hang with him and patrol. He's best bud material for sure.
Pen ---- YOU KEEP JUDGING ME! STOP IT! This conceited, self-centered, self-absorbed, beef-cake is too freaking funny. He makes me laugh so hard, constantly, its not even funny. Does that even make sense? No. It doesn't, and I don't care. He's just too much, and I love him for it.
-------Candidates Teir ----------------- They could be the one------------
Owen --- OK, so, he's perfect. He's charming, tall, handsome, older, experienced, loving, caring, genuine in the best way, concerned for and kind to all. He's a confidant, and a beautiful soul. He tells great stories (way better then Ernest) and he listens. He makes it his job to listen. Bring this man to the real world and let me have his number, he's too perfect. He's tooooooo perfect. Its almost like...he can't be this perfect...without a catch? What's the catch? Is he like Walter White? Is the Blue Moon Saloon a front? Is he money laundering? Did he murdered Logan's dad? I need to know what's not perfect about him. Cause nobody is this perfect.
Fang --- Personality wise, he's a 180 from perfect Owen. He doesn't care, he doesn't listen. He doesn't talk. He's a blank slate human. He's hot, sure, but, there is a story there. I need to know it. And the fact that they locked this story behind hoops, like getting to know his bird first, means its a good story, and challenge, and that makes me want to pick his story, as my story.
-----God Tier ----------------------------- The one above all----------
Logan.
What needs saying? The moment I saw his face on the wanted posters back in pre-alpha, I knew ....he was special. Originally, I didn't even think he was a real character. I just thought, oh, cool they put sexy dudes in wanted posters in the game. Its cool.
Then, we start hearing about him. And even get a cut scene with him. And suddenly.
Its over.
He's a bad boy, with white hair, a dark past, secrets, and a mission that no one knows about. He's hated by all, but maybe, just maybe, he's got a good reason. Omg, can we convert him? Will he be my bad boy turned good? Will I go to the darkside for him? OOOOH its Phantom Skye all over again, and I'm soooo ready for it.
Not even a competition, if I can marry Logan, I will. But, of course, there are other people I care about. But none above him. He's the one. I'm just pretending anybody else has a chance. He's...legit always been the one.
Play more of the story, some of the things you said becomes real, not saying what though. :P But its obvious you haven't finished the whole story yet.
I don't really know why tho, but I would definitelly put him somewhere higher then QI, but below Nia, Unsuur and Mi-an.
Thanks!
-Cheers! & I give out awards to those that answered so far. (two to the man/woman who wrote a dam essay)
2. Gran Vivi
3. Logan (hate).
4. My preferred Romance Character is Martle, but that ain't happening. That slightly over middle aged version is hot and the Young version you see in the Photos is nothing to kick to the curb either. Mort you lucky son of a gun.
Well interesting.
Fang isn't a blank slate not in the least, there is deep and turbulent waters beneath that timid surface. Do this route and you'll see. At first I though that he had autism, but then I came to know his history. It made me madly want to help him to surpass his trauma, and, although I don't like Cooper too, I loved their interactions .
