Do We get to knock down Yan a few pegs? {spoilers maybe?}

So I've been doing this for a bit, did a full 24 hour stream Thursday into early Friday morning.

Story is you and another builder, Mi-An, are contracted to come to Sandrock a dieing town, and replace a lazy builder led by an even lazier builder who's greedy ontop of their laziness, and this greedy lazy builder becomes your supervisor. I call him Yan the Lazy, Yan the guy I'd rather be over Yander far away from Sandrock.

So This short annoying greedy little pile of trash tries to take credit for everything you do, over charges people, and all in all is a real piece of crap. Within the first 3 seasons if done right you can knock him down to second place, you can then stay in first place pretty easily the rest of the game.

Thing is you don't ever see your fellow new builder get second place, this I have come to the conclusion is because Yan continues to take all the credit for her projects. I find this quite annoying and ridiculous, due to the fact that from the sounds of things, Mi-An is able to take twice if not three times the commissions you're able to take. At my current level and rank and knowledge points I can only take 4 commissions a day, while she's most likely able to take 8 to 12 with how much work she keeps saying she has.

That being said, I feel like this entire builder rank thing should really get reworked, as Yan has done nothing for Sandrock, while Mi-An has been the second hand of every single major project in the game. So if you're second place on that board, it's because Yan took credit for everything Mi-An is doing.


So I'd like to ask if we ever get to put that little weasle in his place and shove him down the ranking ladder and replace him with someone better, thus putting him in the middle of the ranks of the player and Mi-An. Heck removing him from the entire friend list would be even better, make him a real back ground character like Bayma at the Salvage Yard.

Part of his "charm" is how he takes some of the credit for the work you do. He's basically the mustachioed cartoon villain of the game. Though it would be interesting if the rankings were a bit more randomized. Yan will probably always be at least #2, but the #3 spot could vary. Just as long as Wang Jr is always last.

If you ever look at Mi-an's setup though, and the amount of space she has to work with, it's reasonable to think that most of her commissions are easy, low value, jobs. Or where she does things on site, like for Owen or Catori.

Also, it's possible to take the #1 spot as early as the first season.

But the last mission of the current update sure does seem to imply that Yan's going to get what's coming to him by the time the whole game's done.

Now whether they go full Uniegost (anyone here play Medieval Dynasty?) on his character remains to be seen, but it's not out of the question that he ends up getting jailed/exiled/sent to a labor camp and a character existing or as yet unmet takes over the helm of the Commerce Guild...sure, Pathea hasn't even so much as hinted at that, but it's Early Access and ideas do come from the community sometimes...

From what I'm seeing he's sticking in the game, because he's one of the people you have become an associate or such, to have that be a thing means they're keeping him somewhat, I do hope they knock him down and the town forces him to be honest and give Mi-An the credit she deserves, because from what you hear is that she keeps on doing far more commissions than what you're able to take.

I can't be fully Satisfied with the game unless that guy gets what's coming to him, but now you make me desire to do another long ass stream of the game to figure out the ending of the current update!

But I have to agree. Just checked yesterday after a few days into the new year and Mi-An is in 3rd place, but well behind and I feel for her. Maybe add a quest line where she moves to a new, bigger area or above her house. And funny enough, her house is smaller inside than the building dimensions on the outside

He admits to stealing rank points from you and Mi-an, thats why his points are so high. He is literally a thief, plus he's mentioned a few times how you and Mi-an have uh, builder insurance and basically, in his own way, hopes you die so he can rake it in.

He says something even worse but if you're not at the last quest in the current update, I won't spoil it... Once you're there though, I'd suggest talking to yan... Then you'll have a real reason to want to kick him where it hurts.

He's an absolute crook and im sure he'll get what is coming to him.

What has led me to disliking him with a passion already.

Mi-An doing a late night commission for Owen to fix the Kitchen really quick, over charging out the ass.

Going at me for Fixing the Hydro Gel.

Trying to Charge the City when we need a new Water Tower

Only giving me 50 gols as a bonus for building the water tower.

Going at Catori when she's working on making the City Better.

Still Calling me a Newbie when I've out ranked him for several seasons while he had never gotten to his workshop tier until I got there.

I'm only to the point of the Canyon right now.... so I got no clue what's happening just yet. Ended my 24h Stream with needing to now get the filter and vacume built for the Canyon.

You have quite a bit more to go though. Maybe at least 5 more hours of content till you get there (Depending on your crafting speed anyways).

Oh man, what a crazy Welcoming Party and the ending of that quest, Should be fun then. Now I just hope the big update Next Month or April and the one after that don't break nothing as I aim for the 10th expansion of the workshop xD

Yup, but the whole Ceremony was beautiful, probably the 3rd time a game has made me tear up a slight bit; but yup knocked Yan on his rear 3 times after what he said.

Nah He "Finishes" the job he just makes us do it, each of those commissions he posts to the board are HIS commissions he took up, but he makes us do them then takes most of the credit.
