Shipwreck ruins chest

on my mini map i can see there is a chest inside the ship? at least i guess cus i cant seem to get to it. i've tried looking around the ship, i've looked all over the top of it and i just cant get to this ding dang chest. so if anyone has insight as to where it is i'd be grateful

I believe there is one way up on the top of the conning tower.

Its ontop of the shipwreck, like very tip top, you need to use the wires that connect to the center of the ship. Jump up from the front of the ship and cross wires.

I was able to reach it by jumping up the side of the conning tower.

No you're not. The developers have put some effort into making the players work a bit to actually find the chests. There are a couple in town that I spent significant time trying to find when apparently sitting directly on top of the map marker.

For anyone else confused and coming across this in the future, it turns out that the chest is made inaccessible in wintertime by snow built up over it.
