It's hard, I mean there are so many good candidates!
My second character (Super Dave, Lv47) is holding out for Nia and the eventual lategame.
And my third character (Tertius, Lv17) is heading down the path toward a Builder romance with Mi-an.
Amirah, Catori, Mi An, Nia
There are a lot of good choices but for my first playthrough i chose Amirah, she has a really interesting personality and she is so romantic
But yeah, Logan all the way.
On my one save however I might go after Justice lol. (I got 3 saves, thinking of making a 4th)
I just want to say, those are the best names I've seen to a main character.
mine was just... "Z"... At least she could get along with X.
I am disappointed there isn't a plan in the works to let us adopt Andy. It's such an overlooked connection for games to permit, and what a wonderful thing it would be to 'normalize' adoption. I can understand the extra coding and work involved in that probably just isn't cost effective, but I hope it's something that's a consideration for future entries if a future town as orphans.
-- My main reasoning behind building just about anything is how late in the game romances are available for Logan. ( If I were interested in women, Nia would likely fit into this category. ) It's not like there's an opportunity to simply build a relationship by chatting with either of them daily, ect. It's my hope that such characters get extensive amounts of content for us to interact with as they're unavailable for so long. ( Not simply for those that I've personally listed, but for any that allow connections late in the game. )
-- On a friendship level, Fang. I find the current means to obtain friendship with him a bit tedious, so I haven't really invested in him. I'm not really into the whole human test subject thing, and I find X's voice to wear on my nerves. I circumvented some of it by befriending Mort so I could get Fang and X to buddy. That's entirely on me though, many truly enjoy it the way it is.
I hope they let us, maybe as an DLC or something that comes with a special friendship mission with Andy, It doesn't feel right to let Miguel taking care of him - especially when Andy seems more attached to Vivi, Logan and the Builder themself.
But y'know, now that I think about it... Haru is such a great option too.
And wooow, my Friend thought the same thing about X and Fang - because like, they felt no interest or whatsoever in Fang by a whole.
The problem with those 'different' characters [Like Nia/Logan, Ernest and Fang] - (Nia/Logan aren't "available" - Ernest comes to town after a couple of days - Fang has sidequest for unlocking some system stuff.) is that, if you don't take a visual interest on them - you most probably won't try to deep your relationship with them - at least, I felt this in other games with a similar mechanic.
Well there could always be an option to Adopt Andy and we just don't know it yet. Im sure if enough people ask, maybe they'll add it into the game? Or for all we know, his parents might end up in Sandrock trying to find him... I just hope they don't take him away if that is the case and maybe just move into town.
It's possible, even if it isn't probable. If anyone's interested, there's an Ask The Devs portion of the Discord community page. Not every question submitted is answered, but it can be a great way to communicate ( in Discord in several of the threads ), and the team is quite active there. You can also review previous questions ( and answers ).
Plus one she's involved in one sidequest (I assume you have to romance her to trigger it) that was absolutly hilarious.
Elsie for sure matures, but I've watched her romance quest online and she still gives off 18 year old getting married vibes. And yes, that quest was super funny.
