Day of Memories
It's not fun. It's also a bit confusing. I lose every single time. I don't bother to look at the prizes because I can't get them because I never win anything. It feels more like an annoyance than a fun event. What's the point of it if you can never win anything?

I like to be challenged but even that element seems to be missing in this event. It's more like impossibilities than challenges. I hope the devs will reconsider the way day of memories plays out. Because i'm not the only one that feels this way. I've seen plenty of complaints like this.

There's a pretty easy way to always win the day of memories.
Run around and collect badges till there's around 30 seconds left on the countdown. Then run down the stairs directly opposite of city hall and use a disguise near the other three or four decorations there. The npcs won't notice a disguised player down there.
When you're a ghost hunter run around and collect lots of badges but focus on spotting at least one shivering disguise. Reveal that npc to keep the badges. Then run around and collect more. You need to reveal at least one npc to keep your loot.

I'm with the OP on this. I don't bother with the Day of Memories for the same reasons. I also don't do the Dance-Off and probably a couple of other holidays for much the same reasons. And anything that requires "twitch reflexes" is a big thumbs down from me, I'm too old to be trying to out-react a computer. "Simon Says" at electronic speeds is not my idea of a good time.

Thanks for the feedback. We tried to bring joy and satisfy as many players as possible when it comes to events like this, however, it's still possible that players might not be a big fan of certain events/fest.
While we're still working on optimizing these content, you can totally skip the events if you're not a big fan of it :)

Like most festivals, it was a "do it once then forget it exists because I have work to do at the shop" event. Some of them I just did because they had an achievement attached to them (36/36! Yay!)

I won't ever try an achievement that I don't like or have fun, but I'm also ok on just work as a normal day and skip the festivals that I don't want to participate. Loved the yak one, though.

I understand the game is in early access and i'm not trying to be critical of the game, since there are many fun aspects to find. I believe you when you say you try to make it fun for everyone and not all will like the events, that's true. I respect that it's obvious you work hard on the game and it is indeed a beautiful game. But most of the events so far are not that fun or interesting. As stated before, it's early access and hopefully there will be improvements to the events. Maybe there can be very unique prizes that will give more motivation to want to play in the events. Special house decorating items like plants, rugs and furniture you can't get anywhere else but by playing in the events.

Thanks for listening and best wishes for your success.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! We'll definitely make adjustments to these events if necessary to make it more fun and unique for everyone!

of the two events so far (i'm on the tail end of summer, so i've just seen the two), both of them were not just merely "not my thing", but i felt actively punished for attempting to engage with them, with the available prizes as some kind of cruel taunt.

for the first: i am physically disabled, i cannot do the rhythm game. it is functionally impossible for me. there's just straight up nothing i can do to meaningfully participate in that. but okay, fine, that's one event, whatever, i was unhappy but moved on after the obligatory struggling with it.

the day of memories? that was MISERABLE. it's painfully luck based, it's slow, and it's not interesting. at least for that one i can earn points in the lead-up to it, so maybe i can have the clothes in... uh. i dunno, 3 or 4 years? i guess? in the meantime i lost much of a day and got basically nothing for it, and i don't see any evidence that i could have reasonably expected to do better.

with this start, and the comments from others, i'm going to have to work under the assumption all the others will make me miserable too. i will of course try them once, but... this isn't encouraging.

I find it more fun than not fun. Took several times to get it but once I did, I like it.

Honestly its not that hard at all... For Ghost hunters, you can easily stand still near some items and listen for some strange noises or look for scarecrows, boxes, or barrels shaking, and find the ghosts hiding that way. NPC's tend to always never be in a perfect spot, and if you get enough detectors in the mini game, you could probably use the detector at almost all prop locations once. I would suggest running to get badges while you run between locations.

As for the mini game to get extra ghost detectors, its like your average bubble popping game.

And in ghost mode, you can easily run around collecting badges until the last ten seconds there are several locations where you can always get perfect spots at, you just need to find them. One Location is near the stairs next to Yans house, if you go towards the wall of the stairs, there is a spot there that is next to a stone/concrete banister pillar thing, put your disguise next to that, usually always a perfect hiding spot for me.

I get first place every time.

Hope this helps out a little bit. Honestly this is my favorite event in the game.

I don't know if it's a bug or what, but my costume isn't working when I'm a ghost. I'm standing in the middle of the blue flames and it highlighted yellow, then it immediately said I was caught. Then I'm a ghost hunter, and have ~14 detectors, and go to the blue areas and shine the light, but it just waves around at the ground and nothing. =/

Edit: Finally found someone as as a ghost hunter. Ghost costume still never worked. Maybe it's not a bug and it's just not intuitive? I do wish there was a practice round option or something.

I found the perfect hiding spot today - right next to the stable where the corps horses are ... as soon as you disguise yourself, it will or should say Great hiding spot meaning you won't shake and get noticed. ...

The costume doesn't work automatically. You have to activate it and you have to do that before the timer runs out. I don't remember the control but it's probably either a mouse-click or the E key.

FOR pc users its putting it on the number of the disguise you want - then just clicking ...

Wait...there's a NUMBER? I have never noticed this! Is this what determines if a spot is good or not? Cause I will have one be good once and then not good again, I can find no logic!
