Run around and collect badges till there's around 30 seconds left on the countdown. Then run down the stairs directly opposite of city hall and use a disguise near the other three or four decorations there. The npcs won't notice a disguised player down there.
When you're a ghost hunter run around and collect lots of badges but focus on spotting at least one shivering disguise. Reveal that npc to keep the badges. Then run around and collect more. You need to reveal at least one npc to keep your loot.
While we're still working on optimizing these content, you can totally skip the events if you're not a big fan of it :)
I understand the game is in early access and i'm not trying to be critical of the game, since there are many fun aspects to find. I believe you when you say you try to make it fun for everyone and not all will like the events, that's true. I respect that it's obvious you work hard on the game and it is indeed a beautiful game. But most of the events so far are not that fun or interesting. As stated before, it's early access and hopefully there will be improvements to the events. Maybe there can be very unique prizes that will give more motivation to want to play in the events. Special house decorating items like plants, rugs and furniture you can't get anywhere else but by playing in the events.
Thanks for listening and best wishes for your success.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! We'll definitely make adjustments to these events if necessary to make it more fun and unique for everyone!
for the first: i am physically disabled, i cannot do the rhythm game. it is functionally impossible for me. there's just straight up nothing i can do to meaningfully participate in that. but okay, fine, that's one event, whatever, i was unhappy but moved on after the obligatory struggling with it.
the day of memories? that was MISERABLE. it's painfully luck based, it's slow, and it's not interesting. at least for that one i can earn points in the lead-up to it, so maybe i can have the clothes in... uh. i dunno, 3 or 4 years? i guess? in the meantime i lost much of a day and got basically nothing for it, and i don't see any evidence that i could have reasonably expected to do better.
with this start, and the comments from others, i'm going to have to work under the assumption all the others will make me miserable too. i will of course try them once, but... this isn't encouraging.
As for the mini game to get extra ghost detectors, its like your average bubble popping game.
And in ghost mode, you can easily run around collecting badges until the last ten seconds there are several locations where you can always get perfect spots at, you just need to find them. One Location is near the stairs next to Yans house, if you go towards the wall of the stairs, there is a spot there that is next to a stone/concrete banister pillar thing, put your disguise next to that, usually always a perfect hiding spot for me.
I get first place every time.
Hope this helps out a little bit. Honestly this is my favorite event in the game.
Edit: Finally found someone as as a ghost hunter. Ghost costume still never worked. Maybe it's not a bug and it's just not intuitive? I do wish there was a practice round option or something.
