Magnesium-Chromium Brick

Game says this is made in the Civil Furnace but it's not listed in the options to make. I looked around to see if I need to purchase the recipe but don't see it sold anywhere. Anyone know what is up with this?

Best I can suggest for the Advanced Mech Scrap is the northern end, slightish to the west side. Usually around Decor piles of scrap.

Alluminum scrap tends toward the bridge end of the valley and a few around the train tracks.

Maybe someone else has better advice.

the industrial machine is the upgrade for the processor, i built that without a problem - not needing the cave? in the Valley you use your pick axe to get the scraps which you then run thru the recycler (which you upgrade thru Qi) i have the upgraded furnace as well which i mined the scraps for - aluminium scraps or advanced mechanical scraps which can be both found in the valley, make sure you are running the whole width of the valley to find these ... the advanced mechanical scraps are usually metal barrels and the aluminium ones are flat on the ground usually up at the end where you come in ...

My sympathies. I need 8 more magnesium ore for that build :)

Guess the Mole cave was among the stuff they had to cut from the patch to be able to finish it on time. We'll get it at a later date.

Do you think you found magnesium ore in one of these secret rooms maybe?
Anyway, I'm almost certain that I found 2 (?) advanced mechanical barrels in the "The badlands" (I think it's called that) around the new fishingspot. Instead of going down to the "Valley of Whispers" follow the path straight ahead and then up to the right where the scorpions are.

This magnesium stuff is just messing with my mind too much. Where did I get 30 pieces? I have Checked Mysterious rooms in Eufola level 8 and Gecko Level 5 and no magnesium. I have been going through most levels (shallow and deep) mining like crasy (I need iron ore anyway) and no go there. I have knocked the heck out at least 3 mcscrooge (Moleman? I guess not rats like I thought) and no Magnesium.

I don't know where I got it.

I am... lets say relatively sure I got it from Gecko Station. I think I remember getting it and being confused, having no use for it and thought: oh well it is not implemented yet, by I am hoarding!
And then slowly accumulating some of it (enough that I was yesterday able to craft 4 magnesium crome furnance cores), the same with the nickel ore...
I think IF they didn't write it out of code (because there soon will be a better drop place) magnesium ore (the white one, I am not confusing it with the manganese ore) is a very rare drop in Gecko Station.
Like nickel ore but even rarer because from my runs through Gecko I had hoarded some of both but significant more of nickel ore.
And nickel ore is still dropping if you mine through not the ore goedes but that... "mass" around.
I assume (just assumption not more!!) it could be a VERY rare drop from the manganese colored mass like the nickel ore.
...but yes all very theoretical.

EDIT: ...I think there is maybe a "mass" that is specifically nickel ore. Coloring is a bit like iron ...also possible the "mass" is a mix of iron und nickel.
I am not completely sure about this. Its not easy to distinguish between when one color starts and when the other ends and what drop belongs to what.

Could very well be.

I just looked through a series of old saves. A play through I did Prior to LSB (Logan Strikes Back) Update did NOT have any. My Current Play through, POST LSB, Pre-Pets Update DID have the 30 pieces. So in LSB update but not pets, because I still had 30 in Pre-Pals Update and I know I was hitting Gecko regularly.

Again still no conclusions to be drawn.

This is going to bug me for a while.

Running about Gecko Station and hoping for the best. But a bit aggravating farming for it without knowing if it has any use ;-)
Maybe our only salvation will be the next update.

Gonna have to wait till the next update for the mole mine, i hit the end of current content and nothing. But I did find a place that I'm pretty sure might be where the mole mine will. South of Grand Mesa in the scorpion area is a large rock that you need the chromium pickhammer to break, beyond that is a hidden area with what looks to be a mine entrance.

Also I dunno how much the luck stat influences drops but i ran around gecko station mining not the nodes for a few days...got plenty of nickel ore but no magnesium....and that was with 275 luck.

Good catch, I saw the cave gone but didn't think to go up to the rock wall.

You have to complete the mission and sleep for a day. After that, you should find it in the commerce store.

Its a typo in the furnace it says you need industrial to get it

but then after the train mission you can get a book and make it in civil

that is where the confusion is coming from

Don't focus on the industrial furnace at the beginning, you won't be able to find magnesium ore until much later, when you built a bridge.

Collecting mechanical scrap in Valley of Whispers will make you able to upgrade upgrade the other machines.

Where in the Valley of Whispers is its mechanical scrap located? I could only find some bits of aluminum scrap.

It looks like smallish jets from an airplane. Lots of it there.

There is maganese ore in the gecko station, but not magnesium. They are different ores. The magnesium we can't get til the mole cave opens, but all other upgrade materials can now be mined in the new areas and all but two machines can be updated.

To upgrade the grinding machine you need processors found in the mole cave, the alloy you can get from valley of whispers mining the aluminium and advanced metal scraps and running them thru your upgraded recycler.
