NPC Sandstorm Headgear

So I've recently got back to this game and I noticed every NPC uses some sort of face veil during sandstorms. Are those available to purchase / craft or are player characters limited to the funny hat?

Just wanted to know because it feel strange to be only one on the entire town wearing that particular style of protection.

By the wiki, there's only the sand hat and sandgear, none like the NPCs use.

There is also the hazmat suit once you can make those, they work as sand gear as well.

Bit of a necro but seemingly still relevant.
I don't understand why they couldn't have added this. For those of use that don't like hats(which is probably alot considering there is a hide hat option) A face mask would havce been perfect.
Now maybe they did add it atsome point however im 36 hour's in and still no sign of it.

Some of the NPCs do wear the Sand Hat.

The sand doesn't actually hurt, so you can wander around without any kind of sandgear if you want, just like Pen does.
