Worktable, Artifact Assembly Station, Jewellery Table, Tailor Workbench also should be place-able indoors. NPCs have theirs indoors.
Smelters, dew collectors, drying racks, would be examples of machines that need to be placed outdoors.
You already can. Either at Construction Junction and or buy the home editing kit.
Or just grind to expand ?
I was able to fit all the non smoking machines, a desk and chair, I want to say 10 Mini storages. As well as a bed.
I am not saying I want to give up the Single player housing system, but I wouldn't mind this for an outside type workplace situation.

My original post was before the update that allowed more expansion. Now I have plenty of room. However, some of the machines make make sense being indoors. Like the cooking stove, blender, and worktable.
