Cistanche, Desert Mushroom, Bitter Beans

I've been trying to find these for some time now without much success. I expect them to be in the desert area over the bridge, but it is such a huge area and I feel I'm running in circles. Also, are we able to plant them, do they drop seeds?

Bitter beans i believe you get it from the mysterious man ... i always buy them as you can plant them to make food for Fang (if and when you get that mission)

I could swear bitter beans is a bush out in the Desert. Can find them most places. Green Stalks with Yellow Fuzzy cattail tops. Unless I have sunk farther into dementia that I think I have.

Bitter beans are everywhere over the bridge. They look like weeds growing in the sand. You can't miss them. There is tons of them. I often find them growing around rocks. At first I guess they are easy to ignore because you assume they are just more useless weeds like sandgrass. But once you know what they look like you'll see hundreds of them.

Mushrooms are found under all the trees. There are 3 that spawn under the trees across the tracks from the oasis. One under the tree near the fishing hole by rocky's shop. It's the tree with the bench by it. And the last one is the tree behind your farm near the windmill. One spawns there. I struggled to get enough at first. You need to plant the spores in summer and grow them yourself to get enough. Someone mentioned you can only pick mushrooms in summer. I just started fall and I still see them. Perhaps the devs changed that.

Mushroom spores can also be planted and harvested out of season. it takes longer for the mushroom to grow in your field than it would in the summer but the plant will become ready to harvest.

Bitter beans have moved and the plant looks different. Now there’s a couple of them growing near the Dry Boxtree grove near your workshop.

Bitter Beans are found near Gekko Station to the Submarin, it's a bush with some colored flowers(?) expanding from them.

Bitter Beans in multiplayer is seasonal. They grow in the summer.

There are quite a few bitter bean bushes all over. There are 3 right over the bridge before you get to the Yakmel station. I use these for Strong Meds.

Also, I have found about 5 or so Cistanche spots on the right side of the tracks past the Outpost. There is one far out nearer the railroad tracks & there is one farther out towards the Eufaula outback behind some robot looking metal along with a chest with a nice weapon in it. :)

It should be once the quest that needs is comes around. I'm pretty sure you don't get it from MM. I'm in a save that's past that point. I'll go look. *zips away*

I stand corrected. Zeke sells soybeans. But I did find bitterbean. Go to the first yakmel station near the Gecko ruins. Cross the RR tracks to the first big dead tree (can't remember what they call them). Bitter bean grows there. I remember now. You can find it all over that area. It changes with the seasons.

You can get sisal by going past Cooper's ranch. Follow the trail down between hills or around (you'll need to fight hyena monsters). I'd go down. There are a couple sisal trees before you get to the poison gas area. You may need a chromium or better axe.
