Cistanche, Desert Mushroom, Bitter Beans
I've been trying to find these for some time now without much success. I expect them to be in the desert area over the bridge, but it is such a huge area and I feel I'm running in circles. Also, are we able to plant them, do they drop seeds?

The first one i found in and around those big bones out in the gecko region real close to the big one, hiding behind a cactus and only one.. Cistanche -- desert mushrooms are found under the tree's near your hope you harvest them like the sandberries etc.. bitter bean i've not found.. On the cistanche i only found it once so far, it hasnt' respawned yet.

Cistanche I've found two of out there, but you can use sugar as a replacement in cooking from scratch. What do you need bitter beans for?

Ok, I'll look again around the bones. As for the spots around the workshop (one towards the bridge and one towards the fishing spot), I've only gathered normal/common mushrooms and spores to plant them. I've planted the spores but it only grows common mushrooms.
Bitter beans: they're needed in a few blender recipes, and apparently one cooking recipe.

Weird i've only noticed one type of mushroom the desert one.

Ahh yeah you need them for 3 potions. When I hovered over them I didn't even get a name. Don't think theyre in the game yet but there's probably a replacement for them in the cooking recipe. https://mytimeatsandrock.fandom.com/wiki/Cooking

Right, the common mushrooms are the desert mushrooms. Sorry, I've been trying to discover cooking recipes for two hours now and I'm tired, big panda eyes and very confused. My mistake, for some reason I thought there is yet a third type of mushrooms.

I hear ya - it happens :) Happy cooking. Best stamina i found food wise so far is the Dried Sandacuda on the drying rack.. Nothing i've made so far beats it.

I agree, it's the best, though it takes time to do the actual fishing and the sandberries (as bait) that you can only buy in limited amount. I would have settled for less stats from cooking, if it were not for the fact that you can only cook one at a time. Ack, where are you? I miss you! As I miss my massage chair from Portia... sigh...

On the home side, there are 3 spots with mushrooms. I admit I haven't seen any the other side of the bridge. But I've been hunting for rosestone over there. Will keep an eye out for beans though.

Face town, home at back.
--Left in front of the Oasis tree cluster near the gap that goes down. There are 3 or 4 spots for mushrooms here.
--Right and behind your house near the windmill tree. 1 single mushroom will spawn under this tree
--Right up the hill just past the bench tree. A single mushroom will spawn here.

I'm seeing usually a 2 day respawn time on mushrooms. Not sure if that's intended on them or not?

Yes we need Ack in game, he was wonderful - I rmr in Portia could only cook one at a time then too. And Might i add, why didn't Mint leave his drill machine for us to mine with when he was here.. Pfft..

Fine Di Sanxian is awesome for stamina recovery: cistanche, mushroom, alfalfa and soy sauce. 12% recovery. No bitter beans for me either but it's needed for the medicine. Guess Justice will have to wait for an update.

Not sure, but I think bitter beans is a tree that you plant. You can buy the seeds from the Moisture Farm and Burgess. It's coffee beans???

I was wondering what you could do with all the coffee beans. I may give that a go. Although I know there are a load of items that aren't in the game yet but are planned so they are referenced in various places.
I think the cooking aspect wasn't quite set up correctly for the first release as you have an option to upgrade the chef's cooking station to tier 3 but can't as you can't make the hydrogel water tank yet (all other machines have the tier 3 option unavailable currently). However you can learn a few recipes that require the tier 3 machine at the moment.

we need cistanche spores
Ihateeverybody Nov 8, 2022 @ 3:55pm
I use cistanche exclusively for Fine Forest Mushroom Cake (Jasmine Loves it). It regens something like 60 stamina (give or take) over 30 seconds. Recipie is (I THINK) out on the wing of the Moisture Farm.

3 Main places I look are the Big Bone Spots there are 3 I have good success with. Definately not even remotely to scale.

< Map Removed because Steam won't leave my formatting alone.>

x1: up on a hill north of the tracks close to the point where you can no longer go west.
x2 slightly SE of x1 and directly south of the BIG BIG Bones (x3). Usually has a few Rosestone SE on a Slope towards the Tracks.
x3 You can't miss these, its really big bones. Has a treasure chest on top of it. Cistanche usually at its North end. Rosestone around also.
