Growth of sweet potatoes

Just pointing out. Got my first Sweet potatoes seeds the same quest. So.... 7 days to finish commission. It takes 8 days full water and fertilizer basic soil.

I got this commission just after finishing the rebuild for hydrogell door and pump or whatever.

Is this Owens? Mine was for wheat, it failed right as the wheat was ready to harvest. Don't think this quest is coded properly - that or you have to plant the exact second you get the quest.

It was for Owens. Never was able to buy Sweet Potatoes before he gave them to me, so had none on hand to give.

Sweet potato seed are sold by Zeke at moisture shop when you unlock agriculture quest before.
I never have a quest like you with Owen.

Sure seems like there's a good reason to grow a bunch of different crops beginning at the first opportunity, and keep a supply of them on hand, doesn't it? ;)

Think of it this way, if he asks for sweet potatoes and you harvested a bunch of them three days earlier, you can get the early-turn-in bonus too.

Just be prepared to fail Large Fish quests. Not in game (other than receiving from NPCs as gifts).

I was eventually able to buy them. I just had no access to them when I first started the quest. I love both My Time at Portia and Sandrock, so I try and keep 20 of most items and 5 of every machine or building.

In case you didn't figure it out. They will be a Hybrid seed. Sweet Potato Pepper. You get two crops off one plant. Same with a few others.

Jute takes 12 days. I thought it was the only source of twine so I felt forced to grow that stuff before I found a real source for it. The time some crops take to grow is ludicrously long. I didn't do the mission in the original post and I appreciate that they are commenting on the grow time vs quest time but I would just say that in general some grow times could use a rethink. It might help with this style of quest but also to take the edge off some of the daft grow times in general. By the time you can grow something like jute it is destined to take approximately another 50% of your played time just to grow that one specific crop. It's silly.

I needed jute for something not commision related. Wished I had known about it earlier, next time I will definately toss it down when I get farming.

Jute is used in twine. Twine drops from the boxing Kangaroo quite regularly. Wish I knew that before I planted the jute.

Cantaloupe seed sold at Zeke shop. You get two crops : cantaloupe (fruit) and Jute (using for clothes).
Sweet Potato Pepper seed, You get two crops off one plant : chili and sweet potatoes.
Pamate seed (pamate in english too ? i don't know) you get two crops too : tomatoes and potatoes.

But before buy these seeds you must finish "agriculture quest" :)

Think the sweet potatoes one has been fixed. I got it with a timer of 8 days and it took 7 days for the crop to grow.
