why are bricks so damn hard to collect? (EDIT: THINK ITS A BUG)
its a little weird to me that bricks take 5 times as long to bake (literally 14 days for like, 8 bricks) than literal bronze or copper bricks. it almost feels like a bug even though its probably not. you can only collect like, 1-2 pieces of scrap rock a day if your lucky, which is very ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ agonizing when you NEED them for several different recipies in the beginning and im stuck waiting on some bricks.

i am otherwise ENJOYING THE ♥♥♥♥ out of myself but this one thing is driving me mad. its making progression so frustrating for no reason. if i am missing another place to collect junk rock so i cam recycle bricks. please let me know, but...my god. lol

EDIT: I WAS WRONG. it was a bug. or something. i had to pick up and replace my furnace after i ntoiced time was passing but i was never recieving any bricks. it was calculating 78 DAYS for a few bronze bars, but lessened to 17mins after i replaced it.... and also made me wait a whole day without getting any items, must have catched a bug

Recycle stone scrap for a high chance of getting bricks from them.

Like i said i do this, but at the end of the day it barely yields 1-2 bricks a day(if lucky). feels weird to purposefully make it so difficult to get a basic item thats apart of several different recipes + for commissions

Smashing gravel is an easy source of scrap rock.
Are you at the part of the game where you have to build the lift? If you go into the salvage yard you can get quite a bit of various types of scrap, including stone.

this is weird, bc no matter how many times i do this i never get any scrap rock, only every other type(besides food scrap). i think ive tried to do this every single day for the past 10 days but never seem to get it...

It takes less than a day to bake 8 bricks. I wouldn't mind it being quickened up, but that's some hyperbole right there.

Try gravel rocks. They are round, reddish-colored and a bit stripey. Able to be mined with the starter pickaxe. They have stone in them as well as other resources you are sure to need. You aren't looking for scrap rock. You're looking for stone.

I EDITED my original response. it was defintiely some sort of glitch that was basically giving me an infinite timer but never giving me any bricks, which is why i was so perplexed

Did you have sand piling up on your furnace? That will slow down the time dramatically.

Unless I am missing something early game before furnace we need scrap stone to make bricks, the gravel rocks do not give scrap stone only stone. I have only found 1 or two scrap stone piles and haven't gotten a single brick or scrap stone form the junk yard.

Gravel never gives me scrap stone. I didn't get any scrap stone from the junk yard. I find maybe 2 sources of scrap stone per day and only about 50% gives me a brick. It is taking forever to do the lift because of this. I'm enjoying the game but I now can't do any other commissions because it has gone beyond the time when it was a special commission and I can only have 1 commission at a time. This is really starting to drag down my enjoyment of the game.

There is two white stones outside the savage yard that maybe gives scrap rock, but the most problability is on that stone monument that sometimes appears on the back of the workshop. Outside from that, there is the stone piles, sometimes I found scraps there.

I somehow managed to finally have enough to finish the lift. The white stones outside the salvage yard is where I got all my stone scrap.

Congratz :)

Edit: but yes, problably it's a bug. Sometimes there isn't any sand around the machine but it still gets the sandy signal, and that slow the production time drastically. Better do as you did, replacing the machine seems to null the sandy.

Build a furnace and use it to make the bricks. That's usually much faster than relying on stone scrap. You don't need stone scrap at all, since there are other sources for everything you can get from it.
