Any tips and tricks to money farm?
3 commissions a day is nowhere near enough money to pay for the cost of yard expansion, ect. Anyone come up with any tricks or easy/cost efficient mats to sell?

yeah 3 if your lucky, doing the upgraded ones rewards a lot more than otherwise, but essentially this game leaves you money starved compared to the first

Grinding up a lot of stuff can pay pretty good

For me doing commissions is still the best way. Just buy the most recipes possible, jobs are usually tied to the ones you have, and wait. I got an almost 8k gols, and 400 reputation, once from Heidi.
The ones from Yan are usually good too, I tend to do these because, if not, I think he outsources them to anybody else, and he takes all the credit.
Just be careful, if you haven't finished the current story, there are some trap commissions,
that can' be finished, because there is only one source of some materials.

In My Time at Portia there were 3 money making ways but none of them are so far available in Sandrock. In short you your only way for now is just playing the game doing comissions + story.

In Portia you could do:
- fish and sell normal fishes (~20-500g)
- fish the 2 emperor fishes of the same race and breed them to get 1 offspring every 8 days (i had ~26 pairs in my last playthrough which produced 26 offspring each sellable for 5k = >100k every 8 days) - so far no king fishes / breeding available i think
- sell stones / dirt at vendors from massive drilling (next point)
- mining ores and make plates out of them -> selling (vendors had about 100k gold each day and getting enough mats for that were easy with the drill) - factory required which comes in the december update for Sandrock and most likely will behave the same

Play at the Golden Goose You can just reload if you lose, so it can be a guaranteed way to make money fast. It gets tedious very quickly though, and I find doing commissions gives me plenty of gols, provided I complete them each day.

Its not? Pretty sure I maxed the Yard and have money to spare. Think I am in Spring (Not quite a year).

Now granted I may only have enough funds for upgrade 6 or 7 day 1 of the next Patch. But I assume I will continue to make money. Honestly I may not expand the Yard at this time. I kinda like my current layout.

I don't think as of yet there is a way to farm gols.

Using a strat off of Youtube, place an ad for more gols (keep redoing or loading till this happens). Take a commission and then upgrade said commission to the rare type. Finish for extra gols.

I usually don't do a commission unless it's worth over a 1000 gols, or unless it's really easy to complete and still nets 500+ gols.

Time. You have to put in the time to build a workshop that will make you money, and that costs money and more time spent. There is no shortcut. You have to have the means to complete jobs (Resources and Machines). To get there; you have to put in effort. Mining, buying land, scrapping, scavenging.

The endpoint is building up reserves; allowing you to create or complete commissions immediatley from stocks (no waiting on things to finish).

Taking out adds that give bonus Gols and Rep (and exp if you roll) and perks that do the same. Increasing Quality (when possible because Flourite is a hassle).

It all takes time and work. Thats the secret. Slow and steady.

Thank you for everyone who answered, really appreciate. I found a good method, thru trial and error and that vid really helped. For anyone else who comes here wanted to know that same thing here is what worked for me, i made a load of money. I crafted over 20+ stage supports and upgraded them to Rare, then when i ran out of mats for that, i turned to making the Yakmel Station and upgrading them to Rare as well. Then i went and reloaded my save files ( in the morning) after checking the market prices to see if it would roll to -15% or higher. I ended up rolling a -19% market price and sold everything i made plus extra produce (milk, paper, peppers ect.) I cleaned out all the stores reserve money lmao.

You can get use a bug right now though

You'll have to figure it out for yourself, when I get time I'll email them my save (loading time issues) and include the bug

Right now you can regenerate ~10% of your sp an infinite number of times for free, quickly (like 1s per use or so)

The same thing will also rapidly increase the value of commissions by ~10% of its base effect (as in its effect x all bonuses etc)

So a 5000 commission gains 500 each time its done (5000 becomes 5500 becomes 6000 becomes 6500 etc)

The trick will persist until the game is closed (so if its done, and you've honestly done this by accident and didn't even realise... its so intrinsic to game play that its almost a given you've all done it... so so so is something everyone's done accidentally)

So if it is done say 10 times when you load the game, every commission (not the hunting ones though) increases the gols value (only, rep and stuff doesn't also go up) until the game is closed.

I wonder why they made this game such a grind.. Portia was an amazing game this not so much feels like an mmorpg..

Dude the game isnt even 1/2 way done being developed, the devs are still writing and changing the story, fixing bugs, and working on the multiplayer build (which is amazing) all while still being under Covid lock downs. Its a miracle they even released another content update last week. So the game isnt "a grind" its just literally not done yet, hence the Early Access tag.

I don't know. I kind of have to agree with Pocket Yoda a bit on this one. I love the Sandrock make no mistake but there is a point at the end of Summer Year 1 that is just BRUTAL.

I restarted with every EA Portia Content update (at least 3-4 times). Sandrock I couldn't. I loaded my old save to continue. I just couldn't go through it again.

That was only my experience so ...your milage may vary.
