Where is coop mode!?

When I saw it some time ago you said that it was going to have a cooperative mode, in the steam description it says that it is for 1 player only, my wife and I want to play it together, that's why we are happy and we have been waiting for so many delays to be able to play and enjoy being together in this game since the previous one did not have it, I want to know if it is a steam error or not, to know whether to buy it or not!, since as a friend she also buys it for the way of being able to play with friends.

Multiplayer won't be available for public at Early Access launch. It's still in too early stages of development. If all goes well, it may be made available to public later this year.

Does My Time At Sandrock have multiplayer features?

We’ve heard you, and we are aiming to have a specific game mode for multiplayer, without interfering with our development of single-player. Much is still on the drawing board or in the design phase, but the aim is to support at least 4 players in an open world map, separate from the single-player map. Players will be able to work, fight, and dungeon dive together. We’re also looking to create multiplayer-specific missions and storylines.

The early access version released on May 26 does not include the multiplayer mode. We are planning to test the multiplayer once or twice in this summer. But we're still working on the details on how to register it (may not open for everyone at the early stage), please keep your eyes on us, and we'll let you know more about the multiplayer testing later. Once the multiplayer gets stable, we will open a time-limited public test to all early access users. All in all, the multiplayer is estimated to be added to Sandrock later this year.

Imagine dropping a game just because coop isn't the focal point of gameplay. Just go back and play Apex Legends or whatever. I still doubt you won't buy it when it releases. People won't think you're mute if you don't speak.

IIRC this was more or less originally pitched as "Portia PLUS Co-Op". What a shame.

I think it's a shame it's going like this.
On May 10th, 2022 it was still in Steam, Online Co-op and Lan Co-op.
And now before publication all of a sudden only single player.
Now you could change single player I guess because enough people fell for the misleading ad and put it on their wish lists.

Like you, DerSchakal, the only reason I even found this game, originally, is because I was looking for a multiplayer version of My Time at Portia. That's the google search that led me here.

They have had a very long time to add multiplayer, and that it's not in even a basic form, for May 26th, 2022, after having the Steam features of Online Co-op and LAN Co-op for more than 9 months, is .. well, it's not awesome, that's for sure.

I know the "dev defender corps" will throw every kind of excuse in the way of reality, but there's not too many reasons why a team would _remove_ those features after so long. The list is short and the reasons are all negative.

If multiplayer was in, I would buy four copies today. A real shame.

For reference, the earliest Internet Archive record for this title on Steam that had Online Co-op and LAN Co-op as features is August 6, 2021. The most recent is May 13th, 2022. That's (at least) 9 months and 7 days this game had that feature on the Steam Store page, and now does not. :|

You're implying they already HAD coop implemented in-game and suddenly just removed it? Maybe...they lost the code for it. *ba dum tish*

Afaik the Multiplayer Part has a bit of a different story and they said it will be out later this year. They said that in this very thread. Where do you get the "it's singleplayer only now" from? It's still an Early Access title and Multiplayer will be available. If Mulitplayer is a must for you, just wait until it's patched in, wait for some reviews to see if it's up to your standard and then decide if you want to buy it.

Nobody says you have to buy the title the moment it hits Early Access. And before being accussed of being a "dev defender", i'm not. I just don't see this as that much of a big deal. Multiplayer will come and i look forward to it.

Yes, because it is not in the game now! They said in this very thread it will come and will be tested this summer and maybe available later this year. So it just doesn't start with Multiplayer.

The LAN Co-op and Online Co-op features were changed/removed earlier this month, from the Steam Store page for My Time at Sandrock.

The tags got removed from the store until the feature is ready. Same deal with one or two language codes because those translations aren't ready yet.
