Dark circles under the eyes CAN be due to lack of sleep but is largely due to genetics and can also be due to a number of medical conditions. Some people can regularly skip sleep and never get dark circles. The direct causes are similar to bags, thinner skin allowing pooled fluids to be seen through the skin. A couple common causes of dark circles are allergies and aging and even simple pigmentation(Meaning literally noting can be done to prevent it).
I don't think the game needs to perpetuate the stereotype of dark circles being self inflicted. Many people can do nothing about it and yet a stigma is attached to it. Perfect example being someone in this thread saying their character looked like a drug addict simply for having the eye darkening.
I think some of us will look like that irl when this gets released.
I'm also of the age where when I started playing video games, my character was that square of pixels. I mean, it's NICE to be able to pick how your character looks, but it would literally mean nothing to me if my character was just a stick figure, as long as the game is fun.
The eye bags seem to make the player character look like a dead person. The game is quite competitive when you run out the door in the mornings and have to beat Mian by only a matter of seconds to get to the more profitable orders. I was surprised by these two changes. The eye bags penalty, forcing me having to go to bed early enough not to get them , and the running to beat Mian. But I am figuring that the developers may be only joking about these as they are so different from the diplomacy that MTAP has, so I will wait and see.
I like constancy and the relatable. I like to think that MTAP is very much a cultural time which is spread across the cities in the game. That not too much is different, but the crises that they face certainly may be different. I like the MTAP game because I had choices. If a child is playing the MTAS game I could possibly think having to be made to go to bed might even be acceptable, but as an adult builder in the game, who is trying to make a profitable up and coming business in MTAS the eye bag coercion to go to bed early lest your face gets uglier is a bit unnecessary I think. lol. Going on a date with black eyes, and everyone in town telling you that you look tired or need rest etc is a bit too personal for me. The consequences for me staying up late and gaming is already felt in real life. Why have to answer to this when I'm playing such a lovely game? In real life I often love playing MTAP up until all hours of the morning, and thank goodness I don't have anyone to tell me that I look like crap the next day! LOl. Makeup is good. lol.
In real life, I am wondering if having the eye bags in the MTAS game may have an affect in real life, on my psyche to stop my game and just go to bed . Maybe this a health opportunity from the developers for the little ones who play the game?
In MTAP, Just squeezing in that last crazy burst of seratonin that makes me ride on the wind of happiness in the game in real life, is to find that in the MTAP game, I can just drop down to find myself in bed and safe in the morning . This gives me a choice as to taking the initiative if I want to go to bed earlier the next day.
Anyway I could be talking through my hat, as the MTAS demo is not to necessarily think that it will be so different from MTAP. The eye bag situation may very well not exist and just be a game trial/ challenge for the gamers to submit feedback and therefore the devs adjust their game which is to to try on us for all sizes. After all, it did say in the demo that the demo is not the final result of the developing game. We can watch from the sidelines and wait and see what is in store for us.
I am wondering just how different this game_MTAS, will be to MTAP .
I will be watching very closely. A lot is being offered with this next game!!!
I am looking forward to examining the likeness of MTAS and its differences to MTAP !!!
MTAP really has a magic and a success story to it. It pleased so many who bought this game! I am certainly hoping MTAS will be another new notch in success for all the amazing work that the developers have put into the game! Whoah! How cool! :-D . I can't wait!!!! :-D
You might make it a toggle in the options (tiredness effect yes/no) in the options because that way everyone will be happy.
Maybe a buff for sleeping early? I prefer not having a debuff that effects your stamina or something like that to sleeping late.
To be fair, you always had to beat Higgins to get the best commission in MTAP. That hasn't changed at all. Except I actually like Mi-an, so I'm okay with her taking the best stuff occasionally, haha. xD
