Questions About Farming

I like the concept of desert farming, as it's been introduced. It seems very authentic. But, so far, it isn't exactly intuitive. There are a few things I can't figure out:

1) How/where do you get more straw? It seems impossible to plant anything without it, but I don't see it for sale, neither have I found it as an item you can forage or craft. What am I missing?

2) How do you remove a dug square, if you've put it in a place you don't want? I've tried waiting and I've tried "remove soil" but neither gets rid of the square. Are you just stuck with it forever if you dig in the wrong place or want to move your garden?

Aside from those two things, I'm excited to turn parts of the village green again. I like the concept of using the kit, rather than needing to carry around a bunch of tools. I'm sure it will become routine after a while!

Straw is sold both by the Ranch Store (owned by Cooper's wife, Mabel) and by the Water Shop (owned by Burgess).

We're still adding more features or tweak UX in the planting system, and try our best to make it better. So the answer may not be valid for later version. It's just for your reference:
1) Now, you can buy it from the Ranch Store or the Church Store (the source may be adjusted later), you may need to complete Zeke's mission and activate the 'basic planting kit'; after that, you'll be plant in your workshop and you can buy straws and seeds;

2) You may need to remove the plants at first and remove the soil; Btw currently, the planting in this Beta version may meet some glitches. You can join our Discord [discord.gg]group or email us at [e-mail] to report the bug you meet. Thanks for any feedback on that.

2. Just to add but you can MOVE a square of dirt (or more if the Plant is a tree or a Four square plant).

You need to access Home Edit Mode in your Yard and Go the 2nd from the last tab (Machines, Chests and placable decor). You can access from Construction Junction or the Home Edit Kit (for sale at Construction Junction.

Once you are on the right tab, you can click on the dirt to select and choose move. SOMETIMES if the oriantation is off, you will have trouble selecting it, rotate the view and try again.

I know this is an old topic, but can I just suggest that you make it so you don't have to explicitly "use" the planting kit to unlock it? I went through an entire playthrough without realizing I had to "use" the lvl2 kit to unlock the extra functions it offered. Same with the mount whistle. Make it so as soon as you buy it, or are gifted it, it's immediately activated.

To remove the unwanted soil squares, hold tab, planting, 6th option there's a shovel icon :)
