I mean... I wouldn't call more IMP photos, shot % or inventory stacks "cheats"... not really.
But "start game with 100k" and "enemies drop increase" are definitely cheats.
That I had 0% to hit enemy in head/chest/arms but since his legs are exposed under the car that shot was 80% - but I would not have seen or known that without CtH - so it really has value in gameplay in ways not first thought about (at least to your humble reporter).
I personally don't like the fact that mines run out, so I will be using a mod for that, and I don't feel the least bit bad about it. I'm removing a game mechanic that makes the game much less fun for me.
I mean, CtH isn't even working properly, it seems... with the amounts of people whining about missing all their 95% shots :P
Start game with 100k?
Sure.
Increased drop chance? Maybe... depends on the drop chance. IMHO it was a bit low in the default game.
I actually restarted the game yesterday evening with a few mods after getting much of the story messed up for me because I didn't take "the desired path" along the game (so much for true open world, I guess).
I accidentally freed Luigi before I even met smiley or the mob boss... so when I stumbled into the mob boss villa before meeting smiley, there was the big showdown and I pretty much killed all the people (even the girl was killed by a misplaced grenade). After that, I couldn't get to smiley at all for some reason.
The Red Diamond mine ran dry, but after that I got the quest to get more workers... for my empty mine... that didn't work out well.
Oh and *the first time* I got to the refugee camp, I had already somehow triggered the slaughter there. Don't ask me how, but ooooh so many quests were just... ruined by that one.
Oh and there were some other quests that I don't remember that were locked in limbo, but should have been failed or done due to circumstances.
So, I restarted with the new IMP characters, Evermine and just for kicks, the 50% drop chance mod (I might have gone for a more balanced one if there was one... but there wasn't at the time).
But, in my previous game I had a squad with 4 SVD's, 2 M21's and backup AR's (including the AUG) fully modded out with night vision scopes etc.
I was swimming in ammo.
So... do I feel like I'm cheating because of those mods?
Not really. Apparently, the way I play the game nets an incredible amount of weapons and ammo anyway... this just gives me more parts, in the end.
May be "cheating", but it looks to me more of a better design
