The Outbreak assistance (spoilers ahead)

I'm currently at Chateau De La Paix, and I'm trying to find the diary that we learn about while talking to the locals. I'm in the right area I think, I've spoken to the hog lady but that didn't go anywhere, and I can't really tell what the "Watchers" are supposed to be looking at.

Anyone have this part of the sidequest completed that can help? Also, for the samples, are they items you have to carry, or is it just a matter of finding them? I split up my squad to cover more ground with the intention of just finding the samples and then bugging out rather than get bogged down in combat, but I want to know if I need to have them reunite in order to finish the quest. Thanks for the help!

The diary you need should be in another location (there is a map I believe with a secret camp on it) that has 3 figureheads you need to interact with.
For the samples, they are actual items, so you have to bring them together (need at least 4) to hand them in.

Spoilers obviously (but you should already know that coming into a thread called this):

Start by going into Chateau De La Paix and talking to all the characters Doc Robert, Wanda, The Hog Lady and Xavier, and then go looking around for the Diary and the Root item.

Eventually you get told to go to the Great Forest (F12, directly West of La Paix). In there you find the Roger Wilson diary and the Plant for the Wanda mission (use the ALT button to highlight things and just run around and you'll find it eventually). Make sure you bring lockpicks, crowbars and wire cutters and a mechanic guy to operate them, you also need a wisdom check I think on a radio.

Then you go back to La Paix with the Diary and talk to the characters and eventually you find the final torn page from the Hog Lady's item and you figure out who infected everyone.

When you confront them a small group of enemies show up to the village you're in. They're very hard enemies despite their small amount. I suggest you get a fully trained group of militia there as well before starting it and properly setup your mercs in good positions before starting it. It might also be a good idea to have more than one merc team there.

Then you beat the team, get a diary off the dead body and then you do a really hard medical check to get the sample off the body.

The H16 Sample in the Wetlands is near a plane crash... and a massive pack of Hyenas and a half-dozen crocs. Once you get through that horde you need a mechanic to open a box for that sample.

J11 you walk up to a corpse and do a medical check for the sample.

K14 Sample there's a booby trapped warehouse, kill a few zombies and then take a medical check sample from a body in there.

Grimmer Hamlet I19 you clean and sweep each house for zombies (bring crowbars) and then you fix a well, then go up to the house on the hill and kill them all there, go back to the drunk guy and you get the sample from him. Or you can just go up the hill and shoot him the moment you get past the first set of zombies.

L18 Twin Mannor if you have a Negotiator or Loner you get dialogue at the Doctor to get the sample.

Then you turn in the samples & diaries etc. There's one last short fight (at least that I got, perhaps I took too long if the countdown is real).

You could also encounter them at the F12 location if you come there at night (I found this first and then enter the village, maybe thats also the reason) which made the fight harder as they are in close to open field and their runners have good shotguns... run through 6 overwatches and pump 2-3 shots each into my squad with big AoE the first try...

some know what to do at the Grimer Hamlet? im stuck with the "there is an outbreak at the Grimer Hamlet" done everything i can at the place, still cant get the last sample, someone know what to do?

Assuming that you already you cleared the house on the hill, clear all of the houses with people still in them. Breach them carefully, because some of them will be uninfected, and they'll run for safety. Whenever you breach the houses of the uninfected, a few new infected will spawn outside of it. Make sure they can flee to safety.

In addition to all of that, you might need to repair Monday's distiller (mechanics check) though I'm not sure if it's required. I did it before I finished clearing the houses. Talk to him once all of the boarded up houses are cleared.

Can't interact with the Hog, guess the game bugged out, glorious. I'm just stuck on "show the diary" to the lady check.

5 mintues later edit - just kill the doctor, if you're stuck.

Cant find the diary in F12. Interacting with idols does nothing.

Edit: Missed the bar clue. After clicking that the altar near the statues is interactable.

Jeez, this is the first quest in the game which feels like pulling teeth. I guess I'll go talk to the fine doctor at the sanatorium.

For some reason sanatorium guards are hostile? Ah, need to talk to the doctor first. What a nasty AP debuff. Any way to avoid it besides killing the doctor? I guess if you forbid her inhumane treatments you will have a very short timer.

Let's say some firefight got the Hog Lady killed

Any way I can get around that? 🧐

I get the tips to search her hog but since I can't speak with her I can't get anywhere 🥲

cant find the plant for the wanda mission

I can't find the root. There is nothing around statues.
