Refugee Camp and game progression
I have a question about the Refugee Camp event with Santiago. I am really bad at this game, after almost 40h, I have around 1/3 of the map (whole Desert island except for few blocks where Biff is hiding) and I got a call from Santiago to meet her in Refugee Camp. Can I forget about it for now and explore everything else, make preparations or I'm screwed already with only 2 teams? Btw. how many mercs should I have in endgame?

Have anyone asked the developers what the intention of the 'Refugee Camp" incident is? It demotivated me so much I stopped playing. I read a lot of places it did the same for others too.

It had the opposite effect on me. Having just gone through the camp event yesterday I ended up playing another 8 hours non-stop. Took back the map and now I'm going after the last 2 bad guys. It's been fun so I'm guessing that is what the devs intentions were. Too bad it didn't land properly for everyone.

I've just hit it and had my only squad wiped out. I've go the game as easy as possible and it's felt reasonably easy up to this point and then this is impossible...and people are saying it gets worse after this?! Lol. I haven't learned how to handle this in 48hrs of playing.. Taking a break.

What were they thinking? This is the 3rd Act scenario in a game called "Jagged Alliance". Yes, you made an alliance with a diamond mining company, and it does turn out to be a jagged alliance. Up until now, you were lulled into a false sense of security, in thinking the only opposition enemy you have, are just the thugs, bandits, and backward tribal sandal wearing Legion dudes.

You don't have to do refugee camp. You could just let everyone die and move on, or you could send in one sacrificial merc to start the mission and go KIA. Your game ending will just be missing some achievements.

You could fight the enemy troops with one squad, if you brought explosives, grenades and RPG.

If you have more than one squad, move all the squads into the same sector next to refugee camp, then move all squads into the refugee camp sector together.

The game only gets better after the SHTF at refugee camp.

It would be strange if the militia fought off the advancing army, it is unrealistic. And I was also pleased that I had to pack up again and re-grab everything. Because that's about what happens in life. It's never that simple.

Exactly my situation on second playtrought. Only thing which trigger refuge camp event is closing your party to the eagles nest. So i am doing side qusts first. Biff and green diamont and u Bahn. After the Ref camp. ev. things go a little bit difficult.

I love the background and i am looking forward on the colonels hunt. In that time, player can have Spike, Flay, Piere, Lenny and Smily for free with top modded weapons and finantial flow isnt cruicial.
