Can you take it for yourself? And if so, how? Is the Only way to kill the Commies?

I have not tried it but it certainly appears that way to me. I am doing what I can for the commies first to get any xp and once I finish those quests I will take them out. I don't need the mine for cash.

You can take control of the maquis and that mine after saving there leader at the command post and then convince him to leave with the madam from the brothel who loves him..its possable you may also have to have gave him the green diamond for him to like you enough

Oh if you killed Biff or hes died then you miss out on his rewards later in the game after saving him and recruiting all his M.E.R.Cs...he will contact you and give you the option to recruit others from his catalog :p

I killed them all at C7 then killed Chimugeira or whatever but mine is still under commies :D

Where is that "command post"?

Maybe someone will find this usefull. To take control on the mine I had to: save Chimurenga in the D8 sector, then take loyality up to 100% in Pantagruel by finishing tasks (sharing posters with random characters) and missions (saving miss Molly). And when loyality reached 100% Chimurenga contacted with me and asked to meet him. After that mine was under my control, with income around 11,5k per day.

I didn't do this in my game, but I noticed if you attempt to go underground through the mine entrance you get a warning that this will start a fight and the guards to view you as hostile, so you might be able to do that as a brute force approach as well. Maybe all the commie guys will see you as hostile everywhere after that.
