Best use for skill magazines?
I'm wondering if skill magazines are best used to bump a lower merc up a little, or better used on someone already proficient in a skill?

For example, my custom merc is at 69 (nice) in Explosives, with my next best guy down at 39. Am I better off giving my custom guy the magazine to bump him up to 70 and make him closer to an explosive god? or is giving myself a slightly better secondary explosives guy the better choice? I suppose this question depends on skill thresholds too. I've seen some people suggest only using magazines on the custom merc to turn them into a super soldier.

Training has a limit (91 or something), it is optimal to use skill magazine after that

Max Out Skills, so i can train other Mercs to an equal Level
Magazines are, indeed, better for folks who are at higher levels. This is why you see the 'old' characters can *only* increase their stats from skill books.

With the Train Merc operation, it caps at 91, so anything that gets you to 100 *needs* either doing the job, or using magazines.

Training low level skills with a higher skilled merc is also one of the better ways of gaining points as well, you have an explosives expert train your 69 char, they might get 2 or three points, but the guy at 39 gets 5 or 6.

Magazines are handy for the perk skill requirement they have thresholds
Lvl 1 70
Lvl 2 80
Lvl 3 90

For example lets say you have agility of 79, with the the right magazine you can get +1 agility making it 80. Then you will have access to lvl 2 perks of agility. Its great for topping off.

I'm not sure if they have a training limit, but it becomes so slow that it's no longer viable at certain levels...

Surely they're good for low Wisdom mercs too? As they will level more slowly.

This is the main reason I dropped katlyna. Girl is as dumb as a sack of rocks. She was getting marksman training at 1 point per session where as everyone else was getting like 2-3.

Dropped her for livewire and im so glad i did because not only is livewire wise at 90+, making training her easy, but I had no idea that her unique talent meant that we can see all enemies on the map, even through walls if we got intel for that area, which is a complete game changer since I do stealth.
