Additional works may be hired for Diamond Red
I am in the tactical map screen and I have a message in the upper right hand corner of my screen that says: "Additional works may be hired for Diamond Red".
What does this mean? Is there a benefit of more workers? Won't that make the mine just run out faster? If this is something I should do, HOW do I do it?

You have to go to that sector and click the operations button, the new option should show up alongside the usual ones.

I talked to the Foreman, but he says only: "Additional workers can be got, when talking to the Syndicate." Nothing more happens.

I should add: In my game the Fleatown mine has already depleted and the Refugees camp is deserted.

If the refugee camp is still "accessible" you can get workers from there, too.

In general, getting those (2?) worker groups give an increase in income.

You just need to OWN Diamond Red. Put some militia there. I just did and foreman now allows to hire workers, no issues there.

Seems folks are having different experiences with this. I a) own Diamond Red, b) have a full militia squad there (and even Larry as full-time resident merc), c) own the adjacent port (I thought maybe a path was needed for workers to arrive, and that port tends to flip red/blue a lot due to assault squad pathing), d) own Fleatown Market.

The Foreman in Fleatown Market still says only "can hire workers", but nothing happens. There is no relevant Operation available at either the mine or in Fleatown. So it appears I'm still missing a rather non-obvious condition for this.

If i recall correctly, you first see the foreman at Fleetown to hire workers. If that didn't work, you have to goto refugee camp to do something there, read a notice or message or something. Then the foreman will get the refugees to work as workers.

Or if you did the refugee camp quests first, then when you see the foreman at Fleetown, he will have the workers. Or something like that.

I don't think you can hire workers if the mine is depleted. I didn't get opportunity until then and couldn't hire workers anywhere. The two or three contacts were all there and their dialogue worked but nothing happened.
