Advanced Mods - Where to obtain Lens, Chips and Steel Pipes

I am trying to make advanced mods and while I have parts from scrapping weapons and armor, I am looking for lens. chips and steel pipes.

I was able to get 1 steel pipe by having a high level mechanic mercenary scrap a Confidante rifle, but I cannot obtain either a lens or chips this way. Nothing I scrap yields a lens or chip. (FYI - a low level mechanic mercenary scrapping a Confidante will only yield parts - no steel pipe)

Does anyone know how to get lens or chips other than by finding them as loot and is it random or are there good places to look?

I found 4 chips so far, all in stashes around the map, 2 definitly in an outpost. Same with Lens and Pipes. Chips are the only thing i have problems with, lens and pipes i carry a stack and dismantle the others i find.

Thank you. I have only found chips and lens in stashes so far. Steel pipes I have found both in breaking down the Confidante Rifle with a high mechanic mercenary and in stashes. Parts are found both in stashes, talking to people and breaking down weapons/armor. Chips seem to be the hardest of the special mods to obtain.

I have two mines and two towns and I have probably 10 lens 4 pipes and 2 chips. And 6-8 guns modded, as fully as I want them to be. Most of these parts come from containers vs dead enemies.

Chips are rare but seems to have the most powerful mods.

If you disassaemble modded guns, you can get special components next to the basic parts.

Scrapping guns should yield pipes at least.

The game literally supplies mostly everything to the players even ammos. Need unlimited ammo and parts go to L9 and finish the faction quest there then you will get access to unlimited parts via operation and 3/5 times it also gives lots of gunpowder for ammo and other stuff. Need money? Mine at C7 doesn't ran out and gives 12500 per day after you go underground and explore the deposits, just constantly protect D8 and the mine will be given to you by the revolution. Need chips? go to C5 buy the modden dragunov which will restock and quicksave before you scrap 3/5 it will yield chip. Steel pipes? Flea Market same thing.

Explore the game and you will find abundance.

Holy crap, buying weapons to just scrap them? That's painfully obvious as a solution, and it has never once occurred to me! Thank you! My parts problem is solved!

Yeah, you can just buy the modified MP5K in Fleatown and scrap it for chips if you want.

Scraping any weapon has a chance of giving you a steel pipe, but I THINK with lenses and chips it has to already have some kind of mod like that. So dismantling sniper rifles are usually a decent-ish way to get lenses and maybe chips.

The Junk dealer in Grand Cacao's governor district has a table with 'weapon parts' that you purchase with the paper money, this table respawns and can give you any of the three items, just save scum until you get the part you want.

Pipes aren't that hard to come by. You find them every now and then, and as has been pointed pointed out, you can get them by scrapping guns. Once your team is well equipped and you scrap most guns you find, you'll have enough pipes.

Lense. These are harder. Again you find them every now and then. Someties in a random stash, are on a body. I once found 4 in one box, on the shore south-west of fleatown after raiding a diamond transport (but I don't think it was part of the transport). And since I only use them for my snipers, I still have some.

Chips? Well, I'll put it this way: I have a chip. One. I got it from scrapping a famas with a laserpointer.

Apparently scrapping weapons with appropriate mods have a chance of giving you chips and lenses.

Pipes are in loads of guns you scrap.

Lens come mostly from sniper rifles or advanced modified assault rifles.

Chips are very rare from guns (because they're only in a few mods and those mods are high end and rarely generate in the gun), and mostly come from loot.

I found that Draugnovs are the best source of lenses & chips from weapons that I found.
