Intel or $ from hacking computers

I dont see anywhere that says what the intel from hacking a computer does. I hacked and it said that I gained intel on my current sector I2 but what does that do?

intel will appear once you enter the sector you gained intel for (like hidden stashes or things like that)

if I dont get intel on a sector are the hidden stashes unobtainable?

From my experience so far you can discover all hidden stashes from hacked intel yourself. So if you are short on money save and reload until you get 1250$ from hacking. Although if you have Livewire in your team having the intel of a sector has the additional benefit of revealing all enemies.

Some call it benefit, but it actually is a punishment because combat sequence does not end as long as you see enemies

Oh thanks, I haven't recruited her. Would still be helpful, as sometimes I run through a whole base three times to find the last enemy.
