Report a translation problem
It should be agility check for the sneaking and dexterity check for spotting or something similar. Terrain doesnt play any role unless its line of sight breaking e.g. cover of some kind.
If you use that H key there is a UI tip that says "hidden" above the character and if an enemy starts to spot you, there is a red circle/bar/something that starts to fill up untill the engagement starts. The enemy that starts the spotting has "!" above their head.
