IIRC even low 90's in some skills fails you. I have been noticing quite a few with stupid high requirements so if you are going to get a leadership one get the highest one you can but I fear even that might not be enough.
I know that this proves nothing but I tried that dialogue 20 times now, could not pass it.
I then reloaded the fight and would always kill the last enemy and then do the dialogue. That was another 12 times, with no luck.
if you hire Raider for 2 Weeks he can probably bring you up to 90 leadership (my IMP at 85 Wisdom went from 50 something to 90 in that time).
you can always hire raider, teach your imp and then send him back into the pot. One thing i do love about JA3 is the fact you can "use mercs with mercs" effectively making them as strong if not stronger and then discarding them as you see fit.
