Meltdown can't hit sh*it with ambidextrous perk
Stands 3 meters from an enemy can't hit them. Like never.
What is the point of the perk then?

Do you use aim anyway if the AP was available? Was it clear weather? I use it as secondary to her role as a machine gunner.
There are some perks in this game that are of questionable value, some more egregious than others. There's no way you dual wield rocket launchers and/or machine guns so far as I know, so her perks don't work remarkably well together. She does make a really solid machine gunner though. Get her an RPK, put a bipod on it, compensator if you can afford the 7.62 and she can do obnoxious amounts of crowd control.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder how dual stab works... if it works.

Ambidextrous perk is pretty good. Dual shot is 1 more AP for a 15% reduced hit penalty. When used with burst weapons especially, Uzis or Glock 18s, it's hard to beat...at least versus using those weapons in 1h. Everything sucks relative to LMGs or Sniper rifles.

Fox has ambidextrous and depending on how you use her, it is either very useful (dual wielding interrupt pistol build) or dead weight (stealthed sniper)

Ambidextrous isn't a perk, folks; it's a trait. It comes for free on certain characters without counting against perk limits or experience level.

It's pretty much only useful when using dual, fully modded uzis or Glocks; Vicki has the highest damage potential in the game due to her talent (Not trait! Confused yet?) granting a flat damage bonus to each shot from both guns.

I use it with dual wielding 50cal Desert Eagles and at close range she can do well over 200 damage a round.

Read Meltdown's AIM biography, it does explain everything so clearly. This is all part and parcel of the JA experience, where nobody is perfect.

Yall know OP made this thread 2 weeks ago, right???

its not just meltdown. its the chance to hit mechanic being what it is.

the perk only reduces the penalty (probably from 20% to 10% or something like that), it does not make you a super shooter in itself

That's right... Meltdown in all her glory is something of a super shooter though, flexing machine guns, dual revolvers, and heavy weapons...

Maybe the OP arrived at their conclusion while still using Peacemakers or Hi-Power.

There is a thread about dual wield in general: Dual Wield useless?

Peacemakers are nice - with barrel mods (the short version is nice as well for the lower AP costs!).

As with all weapons - marksmanship & perks are key. Even a MG-42 will rock if handeled by a merc with 90+ marksmanship and perks (crits on interrupt, more damage on flanked etc..)

It's amazing how far Meltdown has come. Give her some skill training, perks, and a pair of fully modified Glocks with 4 round bursts, ...and she becomes a beast. When you're nearly out of action points, no problem, just use up Meltdown's remainder action points to put her on dual pistol overwatch.

Same here. Right now she's my biggest damage dealer. I set her up with a heavy MG with all attachments that give the widest arc and she's been mowing dudes down left and right. If she doesn't kill them outright with over watch she softens them up for on of Barry's shaped charges. In fact, I've used dual wielded Uzi's exactly one time with her just do I could say I used her ability.

Ambidextrous is a powerful trait.

Twins anacondas with a quick scope can lay waste because they are a crit machine. I can usually get 3 or 4 shots off as well.

Twin DEs fully modded are almost as good but not quite.

Twin glocks are great for stealth killing.

Twin Uzis for run and gun.
