I went with 3 AIM mercs from the cheap tab and the IMP merc for the starting island then I added another doctor and mechanic and then eventually 2 more combat mercs. After taking Fleawhatever I am making more money per day then I am burning in wages and still getting the occasional cash boost from hacking/quests/selling ♥♥♥♥.
The only combat stat you need is actually just agi, dex, and marksmanship. There's a lot of more expensive merc who doesn't even start with good stats for those 3, therefore Fox and Mouse is actually OP because you only need to train their marksmanship.
For example, the third time I renewed the contract with Kalyna, she costs more than double.
The first two times it was 14 days for about 5000. The third time it was over 10000.
This what I did except I never got Wolf. I think it was 2-3 training runs while I was on the first island that got all their marksmanship up to 80+ and now these cheap mercs perform like veterans at a lower cost.
Training in JA3 does seem to be a little bit powerful.
Only time I ever get damaged are those scripted battle like the abandoned mansion ambush at night, because the enemy started right beside me, but sometimes it doesnt matter, burst fire Dragunov one shot everything at close range. I dont think anything can survive Dragunov's burst headshot.
As it was in JA2. Now if you know where to find free mercs in JA3 - you can do the same as in JA2: Start with your IMP merc, train up with paid mercs.. then go for a solo ride around and gather the band together.
Then you ahve a team that costs 0$. Which you can train within said team. Have fun!
I mean, I don't mind a challenge, but it sounds like a ton of wasted content.
I'm not sure if they are in limited amount and if it's required to let the ennemy keep some mines to get them spawning ?
