7.62 OTAN ammo?
I have many 7.62 soviet ammo, but none from otan. And all sniper guns (low level) use this ammo.

The only way would be to control a square with craft place and build them here?

Looks like nobody care or the translation is ultra weird because I failed find anything in the forum when searching the title.

Ammunition is a total pain in this game.

You barely find any and if always the one you have NOT the weapons in your inventory.

And then you meet op strengh HP sponge mobs with no ammo limit.

And surprise the choked down loot were you almost get NOTHING features like 3-15 shot for the WHOLE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MOB you killed.

So many artificial chokes this game is just pure sadism at the moment.

Ammo is a pain in real life too.

In JA1 there's very serious ammo management, I suppose you only played JA2 with mod that added ton of loot and drop, so you get fast better weapons and many ammo, but it's just the mod, JA1&2 never been like that.

And yeah it's many elements that make the game less easy, budget, ammo, weapons, areas controls, militia, costs, more. It's typical JA approach and you need get over the frustration.

If I have no help on those ammo, I'll just admit I abused of the low level rifle by giving it to 4 mercs, and now I'm embarrassed or perhaps even screw up, but I'm quite involved in the problem, not the game design.

Some examples:

RPK-74 fires the wrong ammo 7,62x39 which is wrong -> should be 5,45x39
MG-42 (its not a MG3A1) fires the wrong ammo 7,62x51 which is wrong -> should be 7,92×57

Also they have a stupid mix between their 7,62 WP (packed) and 7,62x39 (on weapon)

I hope for modders to fix this mess...
Why make a game 95% about guns if your gun dev team cant get the basics down?

Oh and no mags only packed ammo is some stupid streamlining going on.

And here the JA2 mod militia of death, I mean JA killers, once more. Find yourself a better life with game you like instead of killing anything JA.

At least I do hope this time dev won't be coward and panick and kill the gameplay with stupid design ideas from an amateur mod sold to not any single player, and still added to the game.

Craft suppressors, use them to disorientate enemies. They hardly can notice/find you if you shooting with silenced weapons and do not go to close range. LIE DOWN, after your turn to evade incoming fire, Take higher ground, so enemies will not see you.
Use forgiving setting if too hard - very comfort setting I must admit, yet still can kick my ass if I careless.

I don't feel I did that bad in combats. Ok I can't say I master it and I'm still hugely in a learning curve, and I'm still considering install the hit% mod for a time. But it's harsh but ok at Normal. I use a lot overwatch, and the skill tagging a target and shooting at end of enemy turn, and knife at close range, and grenades, and protect, and so on.

Didn't even notice I could craft anything from inventory, are you sure no crafting place is needed?

But yeah my play is probably dying from budget, not sure yet, but most chance. I intend restart and most certainly build the IMP differently and recruit differently before active Forgiving option a time.

Myself I consider it's a fun aspect of JA series, win at first play isn't the best fun, try things is better, and that it can fail is because the series tend be a bit unforgiving. Well you can do many errors, but the game can kill your play up to make reload pointless or it's a long back reload so not really appealing.

Eh?

I have a ton of 7.62 NATO ammo.

Just make sure you're looking around the entire map after each battle, and that you loot everything you can find.

You can't craft "from inventory".

You go to your inventory, right-click your weapon and select "modify".
Then you get to craft modifications like silencers, assuming you have the right parts and enough scrap-parts to do it.
You can basically equip silencers after the first battle.

Yeah, playing on the highest difficulty, I'm doing fine, most battles are rather easy, but I gave up on using any automatic weapons other than useless SMGs that can't pierce most armor anyway, sniper rifles are always superior, they deal good damage, and they don't waste all my ammo.

Would be nice if I could buy some to use assault rifles, or a lot to even consider using LMGs.

Yeah, one thing that the JA games always seem to get wrong is the sniper rifles being great at short range too.

They really shouldn't. Unless they have backup iron sights and the ability to use them without removing the scope, a sniper rifle should be more difficult to use at shorter ranges than most other guns.

I do but didn't explored all maps.

You don't confuse with 7.62 soviet ammo? (I don't remind the exact name but it's not NATO/OTAN).

Still, now I see that I didn't search NATO in the forum.

And here the kid that can't read comes.

My comment was targeted to post right above my post and totally out of topic of the thread, just used as an occasion to pollute a player thread with game bash.

Game is weird about ammo. I didn't had anything so I had to retreat to the shore(there are traders), defended mining camp with militia. And guess what - alot of 9mm and tons of 7.62 both NATO and USSR. They appear from like nowhere...
